using this seems so much easier

So... 4 screws are better than 2 nails. gotcha.... what was the fluff in between for?

Scarf joint and still done it wrong.

It's a scarf joint

or just have support at the joints, which you need anyway.

Splay scarf. Would be better with wedges.

How about only placing these joints on a post?

Maybe just use the correct length of wood?

Look at the off-cuts at 0:32, and how intact they are. No band saw, saber saw, or jig saw could do that without removing much more material from the off-cuts. What kind of saw was used here?

Repairing rotted rafter tails would be a good use of this technique.

Familiar from Egypt…👍✨

👍👍👍

👍

using today timber its accident waiting to happen

Excelente

Screw are always better than nails? Stupid!

“ look what I can do with a saw”

There isn't enough long wood to do this.

👍

Where's the glue. 🤔

If i was going to go to all that trouble i would be using carpenter's glue and nails.
