The Chinese J-35 China will begin mass production of the stealth J-35 between 2026 and 2028. The Chinese have already secured a potential sale to Pakistan, where the J-35 will cost around 25-30% of the American F-35. They also market the J-35 as having a maximum speed of Mach 2, compared to Mach 1.6 for the F-35. China is currently launching several fighter aircraft projects simultaneously, but it will still take a few years for these to be fully developed and operational. Reliability is a key word in this industry, and achieving it takes time.

Why has Pakistan suddenly become so brazen in bombing Afghanistan, seemingly without fear of international consequences? The full answer is long. But this 2019 clip of Donald Trump explains part of it. Trump openly threatened to wipe Afghanistan “off the face of the earth,” then said Washington was working with Pakistan to extricate itself from the war. Pakistan has long presented itself to Washington as the regional instrument for managing Afghanistan. My reading is that the same logic continues today: Islamabad believes that by serving wider American and Israeli regional interests, including pressure on Iran and military action against Afghanistan, it will be protected from consequences. Pakistan is not acting with confidence because it is powerful. It is acting with impunity because it believes powerful patrons are behind it. This adventurism will cost Pakistan dearly across the Afghanistan, Iran, and India fronts. The alliances it is relying on today may leave it isolated tomorrow.

J-35 full production will start soon, I do hope our friends in Pakistan will get them. The stealth fighter can lurk on the border undetected. As Pakistani AWACS detect the indian fighters, J-35 can penetrate into Indian airspace, and create a kill zone over India. J-35s can carry 6 PL-15E with folded fins, inside its internal weapons bay. One J-35 can take out 6 Indian fighters. The J-35 is such a beautiful plane.
