- I can recover my wallet using the seed phrase created by a Ledger or Trezor to any HWW. While you stay entirely dependent on Bitkey. - Using multi-vendor or dice would be 100% more secure than trusting Bitkey's different team system of generating keys. - If there was an issue like the Coldcard hack, you'd have to hope Bitkey lets you into their app to take your funds out quickly enough. While using a seed phrase, you could input it on any device or app and transfer funds quickly. - Rolling dice is simple maths... Although I agree it's not for everyone, there's nothing more secure than dice if done properly. If you don't understand it, take 5 min to work out how it's done and maybe 30min at most to setup. - You don't necessarily need multi-vendor if you roll dice, which you can easily do with @SeedSigner. - Saying "if the firmware of that hardware wallet is compromised, it will send the PK to the government" is hilarious coming from someone that depends on 2 hot keys from the same company and ecosystem for their wallet 😂 Anyway, I'm not necessarily against Bitkey, but the argument that Bitkey requires less trust than @Trezor is not one you'll ever win. Trezor requires more responsibility, but I won't depend on them and their ecosystem if I need to withdraw my Bitcoin. If you're worried about RNG you can do multi-vendor or roll your dice. OR put even more trust into a company and use Bitkey, each to their own!

imo the lesson learned from the cold card fiasco was that you probably shouldn't delegate seed generation to *any* form of software. If you pulled 23 words from a jar, you would have been safe regardless of wallet used.

I agree with the difficulty of geo separate multisig configs for the average user. My only thought is to never have ANY vendor generate the seed phrase for you. It's just too much of a risk that you one day get coldcarded and wake up to an empty stack. I have the Bitkey you generously offered, and I'm going to dive into it this next week. I'm open to being proven wrong!

Look man, I do think the Bitkey is a great product, it’s clean and easy to use, and it’s a decent option for non technical people, I’ll give you that. BUT there is a level of trust involved If one doesn’t want any trust, roll dice to create own entropy, it’s where I land for me

This moron doesn’t know how seed phrase are created using entropy , also why would i use bitkey when i dont have access to my crypto whenever i want if i lose access to my hardware wallet. Also there is something called passphrase that gives additional protection.

1. Phone key backup and Emergency kit both are stored in cloud. There are chances that cloud access be not available even if the keys and Emergency kit are encrypted. 2.There are always chances of trusted contacts not available or turn rogue and not co-operate in recovery

Is the inheritance feature of bitkey verified if it actually works by someone. There seems to be dependencies on Block's servers to execute the same.

What are you even talking about. If the seed phrase is random, it doesn't matter who "generated" it, and you certainly aren't dependent on any one vendor.

We are still relying on overall on bitkey as a single company to generate keys. Traditional wallets atleast provide option to setup a passphrase on top of seedphrase which leads to extra randomness and security
