This is a painful watch. Why is Reform standing foreign candidates at all? And why is Nigel Farage MP racialising the argument while completely ignoring the bigger point? It’s not complicated. Only the British people should stand in British elections, and only the British people should be able to vote in them. Why bring skin colour into it? This is classic left-wing tactics, deflecting into a race debate instead of addressing a legitimate concern: the sheer number of foreign candidates being put forward who have no ancestral or cultural connection to this country is mental. Should an Englishman be able to stand in an Indian election? Of course not, and I would expect India to never even entertain that as a possibility. Not being able, or willing, to define what it means to be English is no different to not being able to define what a woman is. And on the wider point, X is a platform for free speech. If you don’t like it, you’re free to leave or build your own app. Pathetic words from Farage.

Well, it’s quite remarkable that you have a DOJ that is willing to make statements to a court in its briefing that it’s not willing to swear to. If you’re making these representations as an officer of the court, then why is it too much to ask that you make them under penalty of perjury? And this is something the DOJ has not been willing to do.

The idea of having troops go through the park and disrupt a children’s summer camp, or drive through the streets and just pick people off—people don’t know if a kidnapping is happening or what. So our city attorney is leading the way. We are filing a lawsuit and calling for an injunction to stop this. We need to remember who we are as a country. I’m very clear about who we are as a city, and I’m clear about my job—which is to make sure this city is safe for all Angelenos, regardless of when you came here, what country you came from, or why. We’ve got to stop it. We’re going to stand strong, because this city is united. We are not divided, and we’re not going to let anybody divide us.
