It’s not even relevant about immigration status or place of birth. It’s cultural because, even if you are born in the UK to a family who hasn’t assimilated in any way, your cultural influences growing up are all from your family and friends who still live everyday as if they were still in their original culture. There are many customs practiced which are illegal in Western countries involving marriage, age of consent, genital mutilation, honour killings, etc. You can have 2nd and 3rd generational immigrants who still hold all the exact same beliefs, morals and customs as if they were raised in their families country of origin imho 🤷‍♂️.
