On Aug. 6, 2020, an elderly woman from the neighborhood confronted rioters outside the Portland Police East Precinct, pleading with them to stop their attack. The mob was trying to break into the building and burn it down. Police were hiding inside. They responded by hurling paint into her face and eye, and threatening her. “Put your mask on, bitch!” they shouted. These violent extremists faced no accountability—and were cheered on by Democrats in power and liberals in the city who believed this was "racial justice." Portland has never accepted the reality of what happened between 2020–21, and we were gaslit as it was happening, as we are gaslit now.
