Turning video into humanoid robot motion! 🤳🏼 Training humanoid robots needs huge amounts of motion data, but real-world capture doesn’t scale. Mocap is expensive, dangerous edge cases are rare, and you can’t ask humans to repeatedly fall or crash. Video2Robot tackles this by converting videos into physics-grounded humanoid simulations. Motion is generated to respect balance, inertia, ground contact, and joint limits, then directly retargeted to robot simulators. One prompt can generate a full humanoid motion sequence, including multi-agent interactions and failure cases like falls or collisions, scenarios that are hard or impossible to capture safely in the real world. The pipeline is model-agnostic and works with existing video generators, making it a practical way to scale data for robots. If robots are going to operate in the real world, they need to be trained on the failures too, not just the perfect demos. My biggest criticism for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced so far is the cutscenes quality in the new side missions For some reason that I cannot comprehend, they are not motion captured and instead use the RPG generic cutscene system Edward moves and is animated like Kassandra with a constant creepy smile, it stands out so badly especially because the main story cutscenes have kept the gorgeous original motion capture that look like lifelike to this day, making these seem even more awkward to be in the same game. They are better than they were in Shadows but still not as good as real cutscenes. The argument could be that its side content so its OK but all side content in AC4 was motion captured fully, like the Templar Hunts. I literally cannot understand why modern Ubisoft refuses to step into the mocap booth for new stuff, surely this is the most important thing for a remake is for new content to match up to the old? Now, my biggest fear is this cutscene qualith is in the 8 new main story missions, it will result in these new missions standing out in every possible BAD way from the main game. Potentially being a stain on the whole experience. I truly hope these missions got the respect and attention that they should have, otherwise, anything else would be a downgrade from the original.

🚨Even after a violent illegal immigrant is accused of murdering a Virginia mother at a bus stop in Fairfax County, the nine Democrats on the Board of Supervisors refused to second a motion brought forward by Republican Supervisor Pat Herrity to revisit their so called Trust Policy, which bans Fairfax County police from telling ICE about violent illegal immigrants in the county like Stephanie Minter’s accused killer. Democrat Supervisor Rodney Lusk signed onto Herrity’s motion ahead of the meeting, but surprisingly didn’t second the motion to even have a discussion about the "Trust Policy." Herrity’s motion died for the lack of a second. I asked Lusk if Chair Jeff McKay threatened him / somehow got him to back down from supporting Herrity's motion. Waiting to hear back from Lusk.
