Perhaps HUNK is now a title to be held by Umbrella corps elite. Leon may have killed a HUNK, but not THE HUNK. I guarantee the HUNK I know would have dropped Leon as soon as he started choking.

Im guessing he is either a clone as the story is pretty clone heavy and unbrella cloning their best op would make sense. Or he survived and will have a spooky voice during his “i survived and i ain’t dying here” dlc

Theres this theory online that he isn't Hunk (because he would be like 70 years old at this point) but Vector from Operation Raccoon City (asuming Capcom is canonizing it like they did with Alissa Ashcroft from Outbreak games.)
