god, imagine having someone like leonard saying something that beautiful about you

There's a documentary about Leonard that was directed by Harry Rasky. I have a clip of Leonard saying "Harry," and sometimes when I'm bored I insert it into other Leonard clips where he's praising people and I pretend he's talking about me.

This is a fitting tribute to Leonard Cohen from last night's Bob Dylan show in Montreal.

@c240189 Have you heard about the 2 Cohen bits in MIXING UP THE MEDICINE? There was an LC namecheck in the original version of Dirge + the 1st draft of Things Have Changed was written on the back of a fax that LC sent Dylan (of the lyrics to A Thousand Kisses Deep).

@c240189 Yeah, the "Dirge" thing made me laugh because Dylan's got that line about Leonard "playing out his folly while his back is being whipped." Which lines up perfectly with Charlie McCoy's story about Leonard stopping a recording session to repent and having a guy come in & whip him.

Well, Leonard Cohen was pretty darn amazing himself, I think.

My favorite quote about Dylan from anyone. So incredibly generous.

He’s right about Dylan, but he’s also describing his own visionary spirit and stature, which is magnificent too! I’m so grateful to have seen him play live.

Yes Leonard, but is he any good?

Wow. Such wonderful high praise! I hadn't seen that interview before. Thanks
