This has probably been said but it takes like 4 days for a crocodile to eat extremely large prey. They have to put all of their energy into digesting it because they eat all the bones and stuff. This is probably during a point when the crocodile is digesting. When I went to Tanzania when I was a teenager, we drove past the same crocodile in the same watering hole three days in a row. The first day, it had half a wildebeest in its mouth. The second day, only the haunches. The last, just a leg and hoof were sticking out of Croc's mouth.
