This needs to be talked about. In Kate’s newest TikTok, she talks about how Liam encouraged her to do social media, how she wanted to give up and he wouldn’t let her. Liam actively tried to stay off of social media and Kate wouldn’t allow him to, forcing him to be in her videos for the attention it gave her. Liam also mentioned that his team tried to push the TikTok wave onto him, but that he just didn’t want to do it. He openly spoke about how this caused tension. Kate then goes on to talk about how she took “about 8 months” off. She didn’t take an actual break. All she did was post less than she does now. Right after Liam passed away, Kate admitted that she deleted social media for about THREE DAYS. She said that she was “ashamed” because of how quickly she redownloaded TikTok. Her “8 month break” wasn’t an actual break; it was her posting ONLY Liam-related TikToks that centered around HER — not Liam himself. She never once spoke up in his defense, she never once tried to keep his legacy alive. That was just when she started making up lies after lies, contradicting herself, and being unable to keep track of her previous stories that she had already told. She immediately knew that she had to do something to keep her relevance and to keep her name attached to Liam’s. If she had taken a proper, REAL break, her money would’ve taken a big dip and she would’ve had to fly economy more than just once (oh no!). I’m glad we finally have a President back that understands this. Trump isn’t listening to these losers who have hijacked the “American First” slogan to use as a shield for their Jew hatred. Speaking of these morons, I think people are really starting to get tired of “the Jews did it” people on social media and they’re on their way out. I mean, how is talking about whether the French presidents wife has a 🍆 between their legs “America first”? Candace Owens and those like her will have NOTHING to talk about and nobody will forget the stain they left on the party. I think it’s time to talk about it 🙂‍↕️ I was delaying it because the scene messed me up in every possible way. From the moment he entered the room panting in anger, to the moment he subconsciously hid her behind his back to protect her when he heard the Kordağlıs were coming. When he entered the room like that (and he even knocked, but… since when does Serhat knock? 🌚), he scared her, because a part of her knew exactly how crazy this would make him. Because despite everything he did, despite the divorces and all the silence, she always knew he cared. And hell… he DID 😭 Serhat shouting “You can’t marry” in the same place where he once told her “It’s your life, I’m not responsible for it”??? C I N E M A! Yıldız gasping, crying, trying to catch her breath while arguing… #BiranDamlaYılmaz , you did NOT have to be this perfect 😭 When she said “Bir kere sen çıldır, yeter,” she was at her limit. There was that tiny second of silence while she was desperately gasping, and he just looked at her, helpless, not knowing how to save both of them from this mess. Y: You gave up on me. His other hand slowly moving her hair. His face on her head next to her ear, sniffing her scent, looking… lustful, angry, desperate. The mix of desire and rage in his eyes??? EXCUSE ME??? He didn’t even touch the tattoo on her chest. He was locking her in place, making sure she couldn’t escape (as if she could). When he turned her around, he kept her trapped in his arms. He wasn’t testing her. He KNOWS she loves him. He was trying to speak without words. “This is what I feel. I messed up. But this is what I want.” But she needed words. She DESERVED words. He definitely was going for a kiss , and she pulled away. Because she is angry. Hurt. M convinced her she is a burden, and he never denied it with words. His silence confirmed everything in her mind. When he closed his eyes in that silence, realising that by trying to protect her with silence, he destroyed her AGAIN! Her cracked voice saying, “You still didn’t say you didn’t give up on me,” I wanted to hug her and cry until sunrise 😭 Then she put her strong mask back on, telling him not to enter her room like that, because she will soon be engaged💔 And btw, I’m 100% sure if it wasn’t for the Kordağlıs, he would NOT have left without kissing her. In my head, they kissed. There is no universe where Serhat left that room untouched after that tension. I tried my best to write with my sanity on! Just an advice 👀 try to catch ilhan’s panting in the beginning 🤤 they are delicious🫦 I know it turned out to be too long but the scene is quite long and full of details. The way we all kept asking for flashbacks to understand Cihan and Alya better, yet no one is talking about these beauties. Both Alya and Cihan think back to their favorite moments, and that helps highlight what their current strife is. For instance, Alya thinks about Cihan's confession, his 'I love you' moment. But before that, she thinks about how he tells her to never let go of his hand. And you can almost hear Alya thinking, 'Does he still want to hold on to my hand? Does he still want me to hold his?' And that's precisely why she pulls her hand back in the scene right before this, because while he tells her he loves her in ep32, he also says he can't ignore his brother. Which is neither here nor there. And she wants clarity. She wants him to say I choose you l, like she chose him. Meanwhile, Cihan thinks about Alya's confession and her 'seni seviyorum.' And his next flashback features Alya telling him 'Hurry back, I'll be waiting for you.' And in that moment, it's as if Cihan is asking himself, 'Is she still waiting for me? Does she even want me anymore?' In the last episode, seeing Alya crash out and say, 'What didn't I go through in the past year?' seems to him as if she's lumping their time together in that sentence, too. She isn't, of course, but Ciho doesn't know that. So, essentially, their talk later on clears out the air for Cihan. Because Alya is super clear about what she wants. But, when she throws down the gauntlet and says, 'If you don't have the courage to stand by me, I'll take me son and leave' Cihan never gets the chance to clarify himself as they're interrupted by Deniz. Thankfully, not all is lost. Alya is still pissed at Ciho when they return, but when Cihan tells her not to return to the koltuk because neither of them have the strength to return to the past, it gives Alya hope. It's Cihan's way of saying don't try and go back to the way things were because I can't/won't do that anymore. No doubt Cihan bey will make matters even clearer to his wife soon, but for now, this was a beautifully written sequence. And to make sure to portray the character as powerfully/to the fullest as possible, for the fans to be like ‘ughhh’ and be like throwing the remote at the tele vibes. 🎤: before we saw you working without a partner (in acting like a ‘fixed’ cp), and now you have a partner, how is it? 🦋: in truth, deep down I feel that my spirit is still an actress, still the same – it’s about taking on new roles. But with taking on a role like this, I might need to gain a better understanding of my partner better than before, because we’ve got to be with each other all the time. But getting to act with nong, where everything feels fresh and is new, I’m able to find/explore a new way along with her. But with taking on a role like this, I might need to gain a better understanding of my partner better than before, because we’ve got to be with each other all the time. It’s bad enough the delivery people show up when they want to in that huge time frame window they give themselves but for them to claim they are out of time and refuse to do the delivery because they were running late is unacceptable. This woman was in the middle of clearing out the fridge when the delivery people finally got there. She would have had it don’t earlier had they been on time and she didn’t have to put things back because they were late. But once they got there they refused to wait a few minutes for her to re-take the items out. Whenever the appliance delivery people are late for me, there is never any consequences. I guess I should be grateful they showed up at all. It’s like they feel they are doing me such a favor by coming by even though it’s hardly ever on time. It would be so much easier at times if I could just pick it up myself and install it but when given the option to have it done for me for a few bucks I usually do that. Most of the time these appliances require more than one person and that’s why I do it. Agree or disagree that we are at their mercy. Although I’ve had instances where everything was smooth and without a hitch. I’ve had plenty of times where they are late or even damage things while trying to do their job.

Here we are 👀 There are honestly so many things to say. First of all, I want to thank you all for the insane support, both here and on Twitch. Sometimes I stop and think about how far I’ve come… and if you’ve seen the video about my past, you already know. TCGs mean way more to me than just a game, they literally saved me. And you saved me. My only goal was to win this tournament. I didn’t care about glory or prizes, I had to win it for my Mom This is for her. I’m sure she saw everything that happened today and how many people were there for me ❤️ I want to thank all my friends there are way too many to tag. Usually I’m the one giving them props 🤣 Shoutout to my sister as well, who “blessed” me by saying: “You have a 1 in a million chance to win this tournament.” Well… it was the right timeline 🦋 The final was literally the one I’ve always dreamed of. I’ve always joked with Mirko about playing a final against him, and like I told you, he’s one of the reasons I even started playing TCGs. It really feels closing the circle. I also want to talk about what happened in Top 4. It’s two full days of playing, a lot of pressure, and an insanely high level. You all saw the names in this top cut playing at that level for so long is not easy at all. And I’ll say this clearly: Mirko is one of the most genuine people I know. What happened on feature was an UNINTENTIONAL misplay. It happens everyone has made mistakes like that at least once. Don’t be too harsh, there are bigger problems than that. I just got the sad news that my Grandma Roz passed away at the age of 94. A Brownsville native, my grandmother was one of the first women to graduate from Brooklyn College with a degree in Chemistry. She was born to two very sick parents who both died while she was very young. My grandmother was a picky eater growing up and she never let me forget it. She introduced new food to me and when I fussed, she said “don’t say you don’t like something until you try it.” In fact, my first memory was her feeding me slices of cheese. I’m sure she just wanted me to be healthy, but it taught me a deeper lesson. That small value, helped me develop an open mind, not just for food, but everything in life. She taught me how to cross the streets in New York. One time, I got so frustrated that my grandma made me hold her hand, I ran off into the middle of the street with cars passing. When she rescued me 😂 she yelled at me and my credit score was dead on arrival ever since. My grandma spoke as a matter of fact. Confidently. She challenged me every step of my maturity. That helped me not only believe in myself but understand that along the way, I would have to put up as well. Even when you achieve something? It’s not enough. There’s still work to put in and a level to reach. With all her grandchildren, Grandma Roz would mark their height. Every visit, I’d see my growth. Through my younger cousins, I saw the evolution of her commitment to raising our family. I always respected that. My grandma once went to the Queens public library at flushing and picked me up a VHS of He Got Game. She tossed the case on the tv stand in my room and said “watch it, there’s nudity in it” 😂 When I was a teen, She would often have a secret non alcoholic beer with me… it was her way of being dangerous and I always got a kick out of it. As I got older, my car rides to NY always stopped at my grandma’s house in flushing. She would treat me the same way from when I was a kid. Treating an hour ride from Jersey as a “long ride you must be starving” taking out a piece of toast and offering a “little margarine” in her Brooklyn accent. At night, coming to my room with extra pillows, which she never called pillows, but “cushions” As a kid, my grandma would wake me up every morning singing Irving Berlin’s “Oh, How I Hate To Get Up In The Morning” I learned to enjoy the song because splashing water would come after. Something about that song. It’s so perfect. It’s so spiritual. I always imagined myself signing it at her funeral. I don’t know if I will, but now she won’t have to wake up every morning. She will get to sleep. With the eternal. Im forever grateful for such an amazing matriarch that I would have NOTHING without. I’m sad, broken, but she lived a long life and I know how blessed she was to make it a full century’s worth on this earth. My last experience with her was last week, she wouldn’t take her medicine. I just came up to her, put the pills in my hand and gave it to her. She took it. She grabbed my hand and kissed it. I’m so thankful to my mom, the healthcare workers, for allowing me to have a moment like that. Rest in Peace, Roslind Dorwitt aka Grandma Roz, or as our family called her… The Wizard of ROZ. ❤️

She makes a freakish selfie from a bluff at a lake house somewhere, commiserating with the hoi polloi who—yet again—were baking in the darkened streets of Detroit. “I have a plan to change these unfair profit driven rate hikes,” she said dressed in a black blazer in 95 degree heat accessorized with a splendid view of a lake and beach behind her. “But also ensuring we’re investing and modernizing our energy grid.” She said that last week, too, in different lame video about high-speed trains. Her buzzwords seem to be: “modernizing infrastructure.” But that’s exactly how DTE and Consumers make their profits. Investing in “modern infrastructure.” What the monopolies do not do is upkeep the current infrastructure. There’s no profit in it. What we really need is for the power companies to cut the trees and maintain the existing grid. Benson instructs us to go to her website to see the plan. Go to the website. There’s no plan at all. Dumb. Then there’s Perry Johnson. He’s got a video. He’s got lots of videos. One of my favorites is him standing in an open collar, remembering how a hundred years ago his parents used to be poor. That’s why the mega-millionaire wants to return $4,747 to our pockets. Nice number. Johnson says he’s going to do a mega-audit and find the waste to give us the money. But how do you settle on a dollar amount before you do an audit to find the money? Dumb. Haley Stevens wants to be your senator. So there she stands on the Detroit River, claiming that the Gordie Howe Bridge is being shanghaied by Matty Moroun, a corrupt billionaire crony of Donald J. Trump. Moroun, who owns the rival Ambassador Bridge, is Trump’s biggest contributor, she says in a cringy voice. Trouble is, Matty Moroun died six years ago. This proves once again that Stevens knows little about international affairs or Michigan. Again, dumb. “Doctor” Abdul El-Sayed—he of little professional accomplishment—can be found on Instagram, prancing about in a suburban cowboy costume. He wants to expand Obamacare into Medicare for All. The problem there is that Obamacare exploded medical costs and now there are more uninsured people than ever before. They’re not the poor. They’re the middle class. And the country is broke. Dumb. I like social media as much as the next guy. I can’t afford cable. Or health insurance. Or air-conditioning at peak hours. Before the bell rings, have to share my weekend - everyone who has been part of Traders4ACause knows how special Honor Flight New England is. One of the MOST incredible Honor Flight NE's I have EVER been on yesterday. Pulled off something really INCREDIBLE and everyone kept their mouth shut, and all surprises unfolded flawlessly. My Dad has been a guardian TEN times, taking/supporting veterans to DC to help give them the thank you and honor they never received when they came home. Sadly, the cutoff is 70 years old so he was pretty bummed he wasn't able to do it anymore. But, once again Delta and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts came together for a third time and put a flight in the air. Given my involvement in making this happen I told him Joe (the one who runs HFNE) had to make a few exceptions for Delta and Wyndham employees and I told my Dad I was able to get approval for him to be a guardian again one more time. He was so pumped. Veterans get a grey shirt, guardians get a blue shirt. Upon check in, everyone was in the know, they checked him in as normal until he got around the corner for his t-shirt for the day. Joe was standing there with a grey shirt, and told him he was coming on the flight as a veteran today, and that I'd be wearing the blue shirt. On top of that, had my Uncle on the flight. He knew he was coming as a veteran. Once again, had Joe ready "Hey, have you met your guardian for the day yet? We picked someone extremely special who we think will be a perfect fit, are you ready to meet him?" His son then comes walking around the corner who we flew in from Texas, put him up at a different hotel so there was no chance of finding out until 6:15AM the morning of the flight. It didn't stop there though, once we arrived at the airport we all came around the last corner before and my whole family was there, and every one of my Dad's sisters made it. Absolutely unforgettable and special. Big thanks to Myra who we met through The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and taught me a lot of what I know on making things like this happen, Susan, Tracy from Delta, Geoff, CEO of Wyndham Hotels (who by the way had to be in London last night and STILL made the flight out of Boston only to bolt late day to make his next flight). Just the whole day, incredible. We need more of it. Favorite part = mail call. On the way to dinner veterans get mail call like when they were in the service. After they open they have a chance to speak/share their favorite part of the day, etc. Most of these veterans came home, were told not to wear uniform again, move on and back to day to day life. They never spoke about it, never honored etc. "I felt like I got the thank you we all deserved and never got" Another guy after mail call "I got a note form some of my family who I have been disconnected from and realize it's been me, I misread the situation and the note they wrote brought clarity and a new beginning" Joe always said during mail call, it's a chance for family and friends to write things they'd never actually say in person and tell them how they really feel - things they never really have a floor to talk about. Lastly, one guy received all the letters his wife saved that he wrote her from war. She saved EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Can't wait to share the story/video and day at Traders4ACause in Miami late February. But, once again Delta and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts came together for a third time and put a flight in the air. Given my involvement in making this happen I told him Joe (the one who runs HFNE) had to make a few exceptions for Delta and Wyndham employees and I told my Dad I was able to get approval for him to be a guardian again one more time. He was so pumped. Veterans get a grey shirt, guardians get a blue shirt. Upon check in, everyone was in the know, they checked him in as normal until he got around the corner for his t-shirt for the day. Joe was standing there with a grey shirt, and told him he was coming on the flight as a veteran today, and that I'd be wearing the blue shirt. On top of that, had my Uncle on the flight. He knew he was coming as a veteran. Once again, had Joe ready "Hey, have you met your guardian for the day yet? We picked someone extremely special who we think will be a perfect fit, are you ready to meet him?" His son then comes walking around the corner who we flew in from Texas, put him up at a different hotel so there was no chance of finding out until 6:15AM the morning of the flight. It didn't stop there though, once we arrived at the airport we all came around the last corner before and my whole family was there, and every one of my Dad's sisters made it. Absolutely unforgettable and special. Big thanks to Myra who we met through The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and taught me a lot of what I know on making things like this happen, Susan, Tracy from Delta, Geoff, CEO of Wyndham Hotels (who by the way had to be in London last night and STILL made the flight out of Boston only to bolt late day to make his next flight). Just the whole day, incredible. We need more of it. Favorite part = mail call. On the way to dinner veterans get mail call like when they were in the service. After they open they have a chance to speak/share their favorite part of the day, etc. Most of these veterans came home, were told not to wear uniform again, move on and back to day to day life. They never spoke about it, never honored etc. "I felt like I got the thank you we all deserved and never got" Another guy after mail call "I got a note form some of my family who I have been disconnected from and realize it's been me, I misread the situation and the note they wrote brought clarity and a new beginning" Joe always said during mail call, it's a chance for family and friends to write things they'd never actually say in person and tell them how they really feel - things they never really have a floor to talk about. Lastly, one guy received all the letters his wife saved that he wrote her from war. She saved EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Can't wait to share the story/video and day at Traders4ACause in Miami late February. POWER GHOST SEASON 4 FINALE 🍿 Yall idk … I get it … but idk … this was lowkey the happiest finale ever , & I think I’m not use to it. I feel like Power has turned me into a monster because I just be expecting the worst to happen and when it doesn’t , I be disappointed 😭 I’m use to being traumatized after a Power Finale . This one was “cute” lol I’m happy Noma & Carter got dealt with, & I knew Anya was leaving because that was the only way to make Noma feel how they felt , but I didn’t expect all of the Tejada kids to live . Dru going off to be Picasso. Diana wanna be Mary J Oblige so bad like girl go to school & move out of that house cause it’s full of demons , it need an exorcism 😭 . Cane on the run with Effie savings for school 🤦🏾‍♂️ , but idk how he even escaped that scene unless the floor opened up like the BET awards lmao . Effie really gave her school savings away and all she got was a kiss on the forehead . At least get some MEAT 🍆 , you acting vegetarian . I honestly thought she was gone go with him or something. You back at square one working under Tariq 🤦🏾‍♂️ I just don’t know Tariq got a happy ending for right now 😂 no enemies , Nico & the police on his side , clean slate , moving Tasha and them witness protection bobs out of witness protection , & working with Noma brother Ricky Dillard , but will be a “ghost” in everything . So I get what they did, but I think they missed out on a lot of potential things they could’ve done. I rolled my eyes when I seen Jenny “Quagmire” Sullivan & thick tongue casaBLANCA 😭 & obviously the spin off is coming & he going to Power Force with Tommy . That should be cool seeing Tariq Tommy & Diamond & last season Tommy & Diamond wasn’t super solid so we might see Tommy & Tariq vs Diamond & Jernard . No Monet funeral or anything is crazy. I know she going to hell but damn 😂 Lil Durk did his lil 4-5 scenes and got up out of there looking like Libby from Jimmy Neutron . But yea I’m in the middle about the finale . Analyzing Episode 54. Season 2 aka Disruption by Design When you first watch episode 54, your focus immediately goes to how the bad guys keep winning. Be it Ecmel, Boran, Demir - all the aholes seem to be living it up. But scratch the surface, and another concept appears entirely. Destino, Karma, Kader, Fate - call it whatever you want. That's what I want you to remember as we don our Sherlock caps for yet another analysis. I've divided the whole thing into segments based on characters for easier navigation and understanding. So, here goes nothing. * Sadakat One of the characters to truly surprise me this episode was Sadakat. My vitriolic hatred for this woman is no hidden fact, but this one episode managed to make me see her side of things for once. And, maybe even understand her a little. We were all shocked by the scene where Nare, Alya, and Sadakat are talking about Boran and Cihan. I was mostly surprised because, for once, in 54 freaking episodes, Sadakat accepts her fault and doesn't look for a scapegoat. Her dialogues serve to impart extremely important points about herself, Boran, and Cihan, and how her upbringing helped shape the present circumstances. She admits that she was always afraid of the shadow of Ecmel lurking within Boran, which causes her to hand leadership to Cihan and keep Boran away from everything. But, in trying to protect her family and Albora, Sadakat inadvertently brings about the very thing she fears most - Boran becoming another Ecmel. Now, cast your mind back to the very first episode. We're introduced to Sadakat as an evil witch who's evil to Alya from the get-go and absolutely mental about keeping Deniz with the family at all times. I think I finally understand why. Guilt. Sadakat keeps pushing Boran away, until one day he takes it upon himself to go k-word Sulaiman to prove his worth, so to speak, which results in exile for him and supposedly death in a foreign country. Everything she does from that point on is based on years' worth of accumulated guilt. Alya is driving the car that results in the accident, so she wins the 'get the most shit from Sadakat' award immediately. But, again, that's just her guilt exacerbating things. As for Deniz, was Sadakat trying to avoid the same mistake she made with Boran with Deniz by holding on to him by hook or crook? So that Ecmel's shadow would never shape another family member's life again? Yep. That's probably also why she hates the idea of Cihan and Alya, because her guilt forces her to keep protecting Boran even in death. Because how could she allow Boran to lose yet another thing? In short, Sadakat tries to control the future of her family by trying to shape the circumstances, to make Cihan Aga and keep Boran away, but fails spectacularly. Why? Because fate has other plans. Boran was never meant to be kept away, and no matter how much Sadakat toiled as a mother, he was meant to take Ecmel's side over his own flesh and blood. And maybe Sadakat binds everyone else with a promise except herself because she might be the one to end what she started all those years ago. * Cihan Cihan's struggle in this episode was to try to find a way to neutralize Boran's poison. Because he's the reason Cihan's life is unraveling, because he's the man who controls Alya via Deniz. Throughout the episode, it seems like all is lost for him. Alya is forced to give in to Boran's condition, and Sadakat is framed for Vurgun's murder. And while Vurgun keeps his promise to Boran and takes his secrets with him to the grave, his death helps him speak what he could not say in life. It's no coincidence Cihan is the only one to find Vurgun's secret phone stashed in a hidey hole in the wall right after Cihan says he will bury Boran in regret. In this instance, too, we're shown that circumstances are pressing in on Cihan from all sides, but one dusty footstep later, Cihan finally finds what will possibly be the key to defeating Boran. As for Alya, she's Cihan's greatest strength and weakness - as it generally is in love. She comes into his life as an impossibility and ends up becoming his greatest truth. Cihan relents to Alya finding an apartment because he understands her duty to her son. But just as fears things are all out of his control, fate intervenes and gives him the opening he kept ignoring. Why? Because, as Cihan says, a man low enough to kill someone who saved his life is capable of pretty much anything. So, Cihan's course is redirected subtly, too, to a possibility that will help him achieve what he needs most at the time. * Boran Yeah, I don't really care much for the zombie, but this needs to be said. Throw your mind back to how Sadakat says all Boran's calculations turn out wrong. Though he's a sneaky troll who's not entirely as stupid as I thought, karma has a mile-long shit-list on this ahole. First, he records a will video to punish Cihan. He hopes that Cihan will fall for Alya but will forever suffer the pangs of conscience. In doing so, he'd never find completion in his love for Alya and would keep suffering. But, an Amal Bakir turns up at his grave out of the blue, runs into Cihan, and bam - he finds Boran. Which ironically helps Cihan overcome all his guilt pretty quickly. Next up, Alya. The video Boran records to control Alya's life ends up becoming the key to her freedom from him eventually. The one card we know he has now is Deniz, but there's Vurgun's phone to counteract this one now. And, finally, I get the feeling that the zombie has a hand in Meryem turning up like a bad penny out of nowhere. However, this ploy will fail too, because Meryem will have the same effect on Alya that Boran has on Cihan. In other words, destiny has all ends covered here, too. * Alya While there are those in the fandom who'd rather Alya be sick rather than expecting, I think that Alya truly might be pregnant. Here's why. And keep the overall theme of kader in mind as we go through this part. In the scene right before Alya gets dizzy, Kaya tells her, 'I don't know what to say to you, yenge, may God help you.' Then she walks into her office and just as she's about to continue her search for apartments, wham, a wave of dizziness. And right after the dizzy spell, lo and behold, Boran messages her saying, 'Your path can't cross with Cihan, or I take my son.' See, there it is again. That push and pull between circumstance and fate. While mere mortals can shape circumstances, like Boran, there's no interfering with fate. And, what's fate always tried to do in this story? Keep Alya with Cihan. So, how does a pregnancy fit into this angle? Boran doesn't simply want to keep Alya and Cihan separated. He now wants to put an end to their relationship in every way. Because if he can't have Alya, neither will Cihan. He's done everything in his power to try to cut all bonds between CihAl, but every time he tries, fate throws out another trump card. And what's the best way to forge a bond between two people, no one, not even themselves, can break? A child. A link that will bind Alya to Cihan in the most elemental way there is. The perfect personification of Boran's defeat. Now, I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time), but those are the vibes I keep getting from as early on as ep 47, where Sadakat is the one trying to convince Alya to leave. Besides, maybe baby, fate also has another surprise up its sleeve for Alya *cue Jaws soundtrack* I'm referring to Meryem, of course. Why do we need Meryem in the overall scheme of kader, anyway? Because Alya needs to learn what fate's already taught Cihan. That love is not something you quietly step away from. Nor is it something you protect by distance, or preserve through sacrifice. The final piece of the puzzle to make Alya realize she's changed, even though she doesn't know it yet. While she may think she can distance herself from Cihan, her own actions prove her false. Meryem will help remove the illusion in Alya's head that distance is sustainable between herself and Cihan. So you see, even though there are all kinds of mess in the episode, underneath it all is a disruption. Be it in the form of bitter clarity, a hidden phone, a possible new life, or an unexpected return. When things look like chaos but are actually headed towards something much more deliberate - a resolution where the story corrects every path back to where it was always meant to lead. Analyzing Episode 54. Season 2 aka Disruption by Design When you first watch episode 54, your focus immediately goes to how the bad guys keep winning. Be it Ecmel, Boran, Demir - all the aholes seem to be living it up. But scratch the surface, and another concept appears entirely. Destino, Karma, Kader, Fate - call it whatever you want. That's what I want you to remember as we don our Sherlock caps for yet another analysis. I've divided the whole thing into segments based on characters for easier navigation and understanding. So, here goes nothing. * Sadakat One of the characters to truly surprise me this episode was Sadakat. My vitriolic hatred for this woman is no hidden fact, but this one episode managed to make me see her side of things for once. And, maybe even understand her a little. We were all shocked by the scene where Nare, Alya, and Sadakat are talking about Boran and Cihan. I was mostly surprised because, for once, in 54 freaking episodes, Sadakat accepts her fault and doesn't look for a scapegoat. Her dialogues serve to impart extremely important points about herself, Boran, and Cihan, and how her upbringing helped shape the present circumstances. She admits that she was always afraid of the shadow of Ecmel lurking within Boran, which causes her to hand leadership to Cihan and keep Boran away from everything. But, in trying to protect her family and Albora, Sadakat inadvertently brings about the very thing she fears most - Boran becoming another Ecmel. Now, cast your mind back to the very first episode. We're introduced to Sadakat as an evil witch who's evil to Alya from the get-go and absolutely mental about keeping Deniz with the family at all times. I think I finally understand why. Guilt. Sadakat keeps pushing Boran away, until one day he takes it upon himself to go k-word Sulaiman to prove his worth, so to speak, which results in exile for him and supposedly death in a foreign country. Everything she does from that point on is based on years' worth of accumulated guilt. Alya is driving the car that results in the accident, so she wins the 'get the most shit from Sadakat' award immediately. But, again, that's just her guilt exacerbating things. As for Deniz, was Sadakat trying to avoid the same mistake she made with Boran with Deniz by holding on to him by hook or crook? So that Ecmel's shadow would never shape another family member's life again? Yep. That's probably also why she hates the idea of Cihan and Alya, because her guilt forces her to keep protecting Boran even in death. Because how could she allow Boran to lose yet another thing? In short, Sadakat tries to control the future of her family by trying to shape the circumstances, to make Cihan Aga and keep Boran away, but fails spectacularly. Why? Because fate has other plans. Boran was never meant to be kept away, and no matter how much Sadakat toiled as a mother, he was meant to take Ecmel's side over his own flesh and blood. And maybe Sadakat binds everyone else with a promise except herself because she might be the one to end what she started all those years ago. * Cihan Cihan's struggle in this episode was to try to find a way to neutralize Boran's poison. Because he's the reason Cihan's life is unraveling, because he's the man who controls Alya via Deniz. Throughout the episode, it seems like all is lost for him. Alya is forced to give in to Boran's condition, and Sadakat is framed for Vurgun's murder. And while Vurgun keeps his promise to Boran and takes his secrets with him to the grave, his death helps him speak what he could not say in life. It's no coincidence Cihan is the only one to find Vurgun's secret phone stashed in a hidey hole in the wall right after Cihan says he will bury Boran in regret. In this instance, too, we're shown that circumstances are pressing in on Cihan from all sides, but one dusty footstep later, Cihan finally finds what will possibly be the key to defeating Boran. As for Alya, she's Cihan's greatest strength and weakness - as it generally is in love. She comes into his life as an impossibility and ends up becoming his greatest truth. Cihan relents to Alya finding an apartment because he understands her duty to her son. But just as fears things are all out of his control, fate intervenes and gives him the opening he kept ignoring. Why? Because, as Cihan says, a man low enough to kill someone who saved his life is capable of pretty much anything. So, Cihan's course is redirected subtly, too, to a possibility that will help him achieve what he needs most at the time. * Boran Yeah, I don't really care much for the zombie, but this needs to be said. Throw your mind back to how Sadakat says all Boran's calculations turn out wrong. Though he's a sneaky troll who's not entirely as stupid as I thought, karma has a mile-long shit-list on this ahole. First, he records a will video to punish Cihan. He hopes that Cihan will fall for Alya but will forever suffer the pangs of conscience. In doing so, he'd never find completion in his love for Alya and would keep suffering. But, an Amal Bakir turns up at his grave out of the blue, runs into Cihan, and bam - he finds Boran. Which ironically helps Cihan overcome all his guilt pretty quickly. Next up, Alya. The video Boran records to control Alya's life ends up becoming the key to her freedom from him eventually. The one card we know he has now is Deniz, but there's Vurgun's phone to counteract this one now. And, finally, I get the feeling that the zombie has a hand in Meryem turning up like a bad penny out of nowhere. However, this ploy will fail too, because Meryem will have the same effect on Alya that Boran has on Cihan. In other words, destiny has all ends covered here, too. * Alya While there are those in the fandom who'd rather Alya be sick rather than expecting, I think that Alya truly might be pregnant. Here's why. And keep the overall theme of kader in mind as we go through this part. In the scene right before Alya gets dizzy, Kaya tells her, 'I don't know what to say to you, yenge, may God help you.' Then she walks into her office and just as she's about to continue her search for apartments, wham, a wave of dizziness. And right after the dizzy spell, lo and behold, Boran messages her saying, 'Your path can't cross with Cihan, or I take my son.' See, there it is again. That push and pull between circumstance and fate. While mere mortals can shape circumstances, like Boran, there's no interfering with fate. And, what's fate always tried to do in this story? Keep Alya with Cihan. So, how does a pregnancy fit into this angle? Boran doesn't simply want to keep Alya and Cihan separated. He now wants to put an end to their relationship in every way. Because if he can't have Alya, neither will Cihan. He's done everything in his power to try to cut all bonds between CihAl, but every time he tries, fate throws out another trump card. And what's the best way to forge a bond between two people, no one, not even themselves, can break? A child. A link that will bind Alya to Cihan in the most elemental way there is. The perfect personification of Boran's defeat. Now, I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time), but those are the vibes I keep getting from as early on as ep 47, where Sadakat is the one trying to convince Alya to leave. Besides, maybe baby, fate also has another surprise up its sleeve for Alya *cue Jaws soundtrack* I'm referring to Meryem, of course. Why do we need Meryem in the overall scheme of kader, anyway? Because Alya needs to learn what fate's already taught Cihan. That love is not something you quietly step away from. Nor is it something you protect by distance, or preserve through sacrifice. -The Cab Ride I'll Never Forget- "Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. When I arrived at 2:30 a.m., the building was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window. Under these circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, then drive away. But, I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation smelled of danger, I always went to the door. This passenger might be someone who needs my assistance, I reasoned to myself. So I walked to the door and knocked. “Just a minute”, answered a frail, elderly voice. After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90′s stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940′s movie. By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware. ‘Would you carry my bag out to the car?’ she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman. She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness. ‘It’s nothing’, I told her.. ‘I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother to be treated.’ ‘Oh, you’re such a good boy, she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, ‘Could you drive through downtown?’ ‘It’s not the shortest way,’ I answered quickly.. ‘Oh, I don’t mind,’ she said. ‘I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice. I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. ‘I don’t have any family left,’ she continued in a soft voice..’The doctor says I don’t have very long.’ I quietly reached over and shut off the meter. ‘What route would you like me to take?’ I asked. For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she’d ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing. As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, ‘I’m tired.Let’s go now’. We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico. Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her. I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair. ‘How much do I owe you?’ She asked, reaching into her purse. ‘Nothing,’ I said ‘You have to make a living,’ she answered. ‘There are other passengers,’ I responded. Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug.She held onto me tightly. ‘You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,’ she said. ‘Thank you.’ I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.. I didn’t pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day,I could hardly talk.What if that woman had gotten an angry driver,or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away? On a quick review, I don’t think that I have done anything more important in my life. We’re conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one."
