🚨Let ICE Do Its Job – The Solution Is Simple. Exclusive By Leeroy Johnson . Press Trump’s current Border Czar, Tom Holdman, has made it clear — over and over again. If federal agents are blocked from accessing local jails to detain migrants with criminal records, ICE will be... forced to make arrests elsewhere — in courtrooms, at job sites, and on the streets. This isn’t new. It was warned about long before Trump even took office. The reason we’re now seeing ICE show up at work sites and other public locations likely stems from their exclusion from facilities like Rikers Island. This entire mess could be avoided with one simple fix: let ICE agents into the jails. Under current sanctuary city laws, NYPD officers are legally allowed to notify ICE when a migrant is charged with one of 20 serious crimes. These include violent offenses, gang affiliation, murder, rape, and more. The law is on the books — it exists for a reason. But in practice, internal policies and politics are actively blocking that law from being used. Over the weekend, we saw exactly what happens when the system fails. Two migrant gang members attempted to rob a Border Patrol agent. That agent was shot. What’s even more disturbing is that these suspects had been arrested multiple times in the past — and what they were arrested for falls under those same 20 crimes covered in the sanctuary city law. If NYPD had notified ICE at the time — as the law allows — those gang members could’ve been deported, and that federal agent would never have been shot. That’s the cost of letting politics override public safety. What many people don’t realize — and this includes many on the political right — is that most Americans don’t want ICE targeting migrants who are just trying to live normal lives. And that’s a fact. Even among conservatives, there’s wide support for going after criminals, not families or workers just trying to get by. For myself, as someone widely recognized as a gang expert — specifically a migrant gang expert — my focus has always been on violent criminals, migrant gangs, and individuals tied to designated terrorist organizations. That’s who should be the priority. This can all end — quietly and efficiently — by simply letting ICE into the jails and enforcing laws already on the books. The other day I spoke with a migrant from Africa I’ve stayed in touch with since he arrived in the U.S. He went to school here, worked as a manager, pays his taxes, follows the rules, and contributes to the country. ICE agents in Yonkers, NY went to arrest one illegal immigrant with a criminal warrant and, in the process, detained two additional illegals as collateral arrests. Since sanctuary states refuse to cooperate with federal authorities and release foreign criminals from jail directly back onto the streets instead of into ICE custody, federal agents are now forced to go into neighborhoods to locate and arrest them. As a result, ICE ends up making collateral arrests. This situation didn’t have to happen. It could have been avoided if Democrats ensured that local law enforcement worked with ICE.

Meanwhile, there are multiple videos, and eyewitness accounts, showing the U.S. veteran being the one who was assaulted. And this is the pattern that keeps repeating… ICE agents use force and arrest someone without probable cause. The agents create a narrative after the fact. “Evidence” is claimed, but never released. When you keep that hateful rhetoric up for a year and a half, there's going to be a percentage of the population on the left that's emboldened to take action because they believe ICE isn't a real law enforcement agency. They think, 'I should resist them.' All they had to do was simply comply with law enforcement… This is about complying with law enforcement. I said a year ago that if the negative, hateful rhetoric doesn't stop, there will be bloodshed. Unfortunately, I was right. And I'll tell you something else: it's not over yet. As long as people keep attacking and misrepresenting what ICE does every day, calling them Nazs and comparing ICE to the Naz* regime, there's going to be a segment of the population that's emboldened to do something stupid. I'm afraid we're going to bury an ICE agent. I'm afraid I'm going to hand another folded flag to the spouse or child of an ICE agent for simply doing his job. And for any member of Congress to keep attacking ICE and calling them fascists and Nazis, I've said it a thousand times: If they're Nazs for enforcing the law, then what does that make the people who wrote the law? We're not making this up. We are enforcing the laws they wrote, and they appropriate the money for us to enforce them… Everybody, you know, guys, ICE agents are moms and dads too. They don't hang their hearts on a hook every day to do this job. And it's not just an attack on the ICE agents. It's an attack on their spouses and children, and no one knows that better than me. I can't even go get a quart of milk at the grocery store without a security detail. Why? Because I'm enforcing the laws of this country. Now the left is calling for the abolition, and even the prosecution of ICE agents. Think about that. These agents are carrying out lawful federal immigration orders. Yet Democrat governors and mayors are increasingly forming their own confederation in opposition to the enforcement of federal law, even when it involves removing individuals convicted of violent crimes who are in the country unlawfully. The reason you see ICE flooding into Minnesota, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles—these big cities—is because they refuse to turn over illegal immigrants arrested by local police when there are outstanding ICE warrants. If they simply said, "Look, ICE, we don't want our police actively engaged in enforcement, but you can come into our jails, evaluate arrests, and remove those criminals committing crimes against U.S. citizens and each other," instead of fighting and violating federal law, this wouldn't be happening.
