I get what she's saying, but she's being petty. Its about putting a lil personal touch. Saying just "How are you?" is lazy and I have blocked people for not even trying to create and keep a conversation. When I text, its something more bright, like "Hey hey! Thanks for matching up, my name is _____. What are you up to on this crazy day?" Not too much but it low effort enough. Its not some generic bland response. Greeting, introduction, and givr them a question that gives way into an open answer and based on what they say, I'll have enough context to keep the coversation flowing or if not, blocked and move on. You have at least put in SOME effort by creating that conversational flow. Show interest and have some personality. The problem with today's dating is the ability to communicate throughly. Technology has really crippled some people's ability to comprehend and converse. This is why English Language Arts class in school and reading physical books are very important, now more than ever.
