Let me help Energy CS Wandayi: Kenya’s average electricity tariff is about $0.26 per kilowatt hour. In Uganda it is about $0.17, in Rwanda about $0.19, in Tanzania about $0.10, and in Ethiopia it is below $0.01 per kilowatt hour. That means power in Kenya is 26 times more...

Zia Yusuf, "You claim that Reform UK's Richard Tice is going to make energy bills more expensive by drilling in the north sea, how?" Caroline Lucas, "Oil and gas are far more expensive than renewable energy" Zia Yusuf, "How would drilling in the north sea, increasing the supply of something increase it's costs?" 🤦‍♂️ North Sea oil and gas extraction is expensive compared with renewables like wind and solar, so even if you produce more, the energy from these sources will still cost more per unit than renewable energy

Jordan Peterson, in conversation with Christine Anderson: So-called "green" policies intended to cut emissions have instead driven up energy costs, accelerated deindustrialisation, and increased pollution. "Germany now has electricity that's about five times higher than it should be in terms of cost... And they pollute more per unit of electricity than they did before." "It really is a destructive ideology masquerading as compassion and worship of nature." Credit: Dr Jordan B Peterson Christine Anderson

Britain is the most expensive place in the world to build a nuclear power station. I spoke to MPs on the Energy Security and Net Zero about why that is and how others countries are able to build it cheaply.

Ending Europe's stagnation might be the most important thing in the world right now. Capitalism and liberal democracy have their deepest roots in Europe, but its economic sclerosis is making it irrelevant. • Five US companies spend more on R&D annually than the entire public sector of every European country combined. • Europe's AI sector is worth less than one hundredth of America's. • It is five times more expensive to fire someone in Germany or France than in America. Staff turnover in the US is ten times higher than it is in Germany. • There is no shortage of European entrepreneurs – the problem is that many of them are moving away to set up their businesses. One in ten US startups has a European co-founder. • EU countries shut down 80 gigawatts' worth of coal-fired power plants during the 2010s, with most of the shortfall being made up by expensive, unreliable wind and solar power. • The EU charges about six times more per ton of carbon than China does, and about 50 percent more than California. Most US states don't price carbon emissions at all. On the Works in Progress Podcast, I sat down with Pieter Garicano and Aria Schrecker to talk about what's gone wrong and what Europeans can do to return to the growth and dynamism that once made Europe the world's preeminent civilization. Listen now! Spotify: Apple: Youtube: Substck:

$PLTR is one of the only software platforms that plausibly becomes more important in an agentic world rather than less important. The market can argue about how expensive it is but it is much harder to argue that the problem it solves is going away.

Evening message after a long drive back to Hill Country. Whatever happened during OUR ‘Special Session’? The roll up: OUR Property Taxes will go up. OUR Tax Dollars will pay for lobbyist to lobby them to raise your taxes even more. OUR $32 Billion in over collected taxes were NOT returned to you. OUR Government GREW by 40% or more. YOUR Schools will still FUND DEI with your tax dollars. OUR ELECTIONS are still manufactured with NO remedy. OUR Electrical Infrastructure is still collapsing. OUR Power companies STILL will sell electricity across state lines in the terawatts at a nickel more per kilowatt hour and turn your electricity off to do it to make a buck instead of Texas power companies being forced to serve TEXANS FIRST. OUR Houston Harris County government STILL is raping you for taxes and pissing it off on social programs while a massive flood control infrastructure is needed more than ever and not a damn thing is done about it. These clowns are trying to destroy our freedoms right in our face. I’m hearing you Texans. You are worth so much better! ~ Doc

ELON MUSK: "When you have solar in space, you get five times more effectiveness, maybe even more than that, than solar on the ground, because it's always cold, so you don't have a day, night cycle or weather, and you get about 30% more power in space because you don't have atmospheric attenuation of the power, the net effect in solar is five times more. Any given solar panel will do five times more energy in space than on the ground."

🚨80% more expensive to buy electricity in states with no coal than states with coal power🚨 Secretary Chris Wright explains the data: “Across the country, 10 states with no coal versus the 10 states with the most coal-intensive electricity generation. And here, the difference in electricity prices is 80%”.

WOW 🚨 Not Only Will Illegal Immigrants Get More Money For Food Stamps Than Struggling American Citizens But They’re About To Be Paid More Than Our VETERANS The Budget For Illegals Is More Than DOUBLE Than What’s Allocated For New York’s Department Of Veteran Services!!! The people who went to war, bled and died for this country!! 🤯 “Is that each migrant will get approximately $12.52 per day to purchase food and baby supplies. That's about 40% more than what the average low income American Wow. Gets in this country on government food stamps or stamps that came in 2022 which was about $7.59 is per person per day. To put in other words, that $53 million that's being used for this prepaid debit program is double what the New York state is budgeting in 2025 for its Department of Veterans Services, its Office of National and Community Service, is division of human rights, and it's more than double”

One of the things I want to explore next year across Africa is Real Estate. I want to look at what your money can buy, and also to answer the critical question of why houses are more expensive in certain countries than others. They are more expensive in Zimbabwe, Angola and Kenya, than they are in South Africa and Rwanda. This is what you can buy for US$80,000 in Kigali, Rwanda. Africans with money turn to buy outside the continent yet we can build the continent by investing our money in each other’s countries. I will look at why this is not happening and how we can make this possible without painful and chaotic bureaucracy of rules and banking regulations.

Note that as I write this: - Gas prices are 45 CENTS HIGHER than when Biden left office - Electricity prices are 13% higher than when Biden left office - Jet Fuel is 50% higher than when Biden left office - Diesel is $1.20 more expensive than when Biden left office.

The cheapest place to put AI will be space. Elon Musk says solar panels in space produce 5 times more power than on the ground. No atmosphere, no clouds, no day-night cycle. No batteries needed. And critically, no permits. Scaling energy on Earth means fighting land use regulations, environmental reviews, and grid interconnection queues that take years. Space has none of that. The math gets wild fast. SpaceX could launch hundreds of gigawatts of AI compute into orbit annually. That's more compute than currently exists on Earth. Ten thousand Starship launches per year. One launch every hour. And you only need 20 to 30 ships to sustain that cadence. Earth gets about half a billionth of the Sun's total energy output. A millionth of the Sun's energy is 100,000 times all of civilization's current electricity production. The AI race is not a software race. It is a power plant race. And software people are about to get a very hard lesson in hardware.
