The persistent tribal prejudice and open bigotry by some members of the Kikuyu elite against Somalis can no longer be ignored. It is time to call it out for what it is. Listen to this clip by Kipipri MP wanjiku Muhia. When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression. At the core of this fear is the reality that Somalis are growing in numbers, expanding in business, and increasing their political influence. The claim that Somalis are reproducing like chickens is certainly the truth - No family planning. That Census data underrepresents their population is undoubtedly the truth. Historically, Somalis may not have prioritized civic participation to the same extent as other communities, but that has changed. There is a political awakening among Somalis, and voter turnout in future elections will be shocking. The idea that Somalis are increasingly showing ethnic dominance overtaking Kikuyu is a reality we can not deny. Population growth, land size, and business influence should not be a cause for hostility but rather an acknowledgment of their resilience and hard work. In land alone, the entire central region fits in Guticha ward of Mandera. Despite decades of economic and infrastructural advantages in favor of the Kikuyu-dominated regions , the North is experiencing rapid growth and development. This progress is not a threat—it is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and determination of the Somali people. The choice is clear: Embrace friendship, coexistence, and mutual progress, or cling to outdated fears and divisive narratives - the train will blaze regardless. ON FALSEHOODS PEDDLED BY MR. GACHAGUA It has come to our attention that Mr. Rigathi Gachagua has once again chosen to recklessly peddle blatant falsehoods in a desperate attempt to mislead the public for cheap political mileage. 1. FALSE CLAIM: That the President met “other people” during his visit to Mandera This claim is not just false it is a calculated, malevolent lie. As a leader who personally accompanied H.E. President William Ruto from the moment he landed in Mandera to the moment he departed, I affirm without fear of contradiction that the President only met officially recognized Mandera leaders and the public in open forums. Every aspect of the President’s one-day itinerary was transparent and in the public domain. No private, backdoor, or suspicious meetings took place. The suggestion by Mr. Gachagua that the President met with unknown individuals is a shameful fabrication designed to sow division and confusion among the people. It is deeply unfortunate that a man who once postured as a symbol of truth has now reduced himself to a serial purveyor of falsehoods, unable to recall the last time he spoke the truth. Such conduct is not only disgraceful it is dangerous, especially when deployed to distort presidential engagements with historically marginalized communities. 2. FALSE CLAIM: That security vetting for Northern Kenya has been removed Mr. Gachagua’s assertion that the government has removed vetting is yet another deliberate distortion of facts. What President Ruto stated clearly in Mandera is that the discriminatory and excessive bureaucratic vetting that has for years been selectively imposed on communities in the Northern Frontier District (NFD) must end. The President emphasized that all Kenyans must be subjected to one uniform standard of vetting fair, consistent, and constitutional without stigmatization based on region or ethnicity. To twist this clear and just position into a false narrative of national insecurity is reckless, dishonest, and deeply disrespectful to the people of Northern Kenya who have suffered decades of systemic exclusion and profiling. The American Government must not fall for the dilutions and desperations for attention and favours using fabricated lies from Mr. Gachagua. DCI must do its job. The Honors is upon Gachagua to substantiate his claims with evidence or face the law. The burden of proof for all his lies with him. Yes - I do agree with Hassan Kurusee, former President Mohamed Nasheed is indeed a brilliant systems architect, a visionary, & a leader who GENUINELY loves freedom. He connects with ordinary Maldivians like very few can. That’s why many of us once supported him strongly. That’s why I once loved this leader with all my heart. But even with all this, Mohamed Nasheed has SERIOUS, DEEP, flaws that makes him unsuitable for a political leader & a president. 1. FIRST & MOST SERIOUS: Mohamed Nasheed has uncontrollable anger issues. When he gets triggered, he completely loses restraint, completely loses control & makes impulsive decisions that destroy everything around him. Many close to his personal life would agree. The clearest example for us is how he managed the Feb 7, 2012 disaster and how MDP Secretariat gov ended on that day. It was absolutely wrong for the top generals & security officers at that time to betray a sitting president and they must face consequences for that treachery. BUT instead of calmly/wisely using the real power Mohamed Nasheed had as the President of Maldives (power over the majority of the army, police plus the entire gov) he LOST HIS TEMPER COMPLETELY. He started yelling, shouting, moving around frantically, and acting with ZERO CONTROL as we see in this video This crazy emotional outburst allowed the Feb 7 coup leader to penetrate into the security forces and establish their control and allowed the situation to escalate quickly and spiral out of hand. That dangerous day Mohamed Nasheed’s rage clouded his judgment when strategic, presidential leadership was needed most for the country. He probably regrets it even if he doesn’t admit it now. 2. SECOND, Mohamed Nasheed strongly believes he is the only person with the ONE & ONLY right vision for Maldives & the only person capable of leading Maldives. He strongly refuses to accept that other talented leaders (even young MDP ppl) can also be visionary and can lead Maldives. And this arrogance of Mohamed Nasheed has caused him to sideline & overshadow everyone else that tries to compete him in leadership. —- These two terrible and fatal flaws of Mohamed Nasheed MN unofficial is why I am unable to support him neither as a party leader at any level or even a president or for any leadership role. And these flaws and problems of Mohamed Nasheed explain why he split MDP Secretariat after losing the 2023 primaries, formed TheDemocrats, and later tried to destroy MDP Secretariat . However, LET ME BE CLEAR: If Mohamed Nasheed MN unofficial would ever truly overcome his uncontrollable anger & massive ego, me & many young / old people would support him again. However, given his repeated history, I don’t see this happening anytime soon. I hope it does though. And I believe Mohamed Nasheed’s situation is a very real loss for Maldives.
