I’ve cast my suggestion. This one would speed up the @euacchq eu/acc agenda and give Europe a real shot at partnering up with the United States over the next 4+ years to save itself from total economic collapse.

Nope! And.. the angle is different. Even hitting less than 10% of the goals by 2030 is a win. Devoting some time and energy this way makes sense in any case. The payoff is positive no matter what, and, strategically, it's a no-brainer for everyone involved.

Totally agree that a startup has no business needing a Chief Compliance Officer. This currently happens because: 1. Government passes a law then 2. Relies on businesses to find/create their own solutions 3. Consultants and legal experts exploit this opportunity to spread fear and price gouge their clients My suggestion is that each law is required to be accompanied by a digital software solution, compliance in this case, before it can go into effect. This would replace the need for small business to have a Chief Compliance Office and avoid legal fees without having to fight to remove a law altogether.

That's an amazing idea. There's already the concept of regulatory impact assessment. You're essentially proposing something like this: the RIA at both the EU and EU state levels should include a dedicated metric that evaluates the "compliance weight" a new law or requirement imposes on SMEs and startups. In such cases, a public grant could be provided to cover this burden digitally and free of charge. If this proves unfeasible, then SMEs and startups should be exempt from the additional burden. However, the key approach, in my view, should be the opposite: by default, full exemption for SMEs and startups. Only if this additional criterion is met should the new regulatory burden become widespread. Just ideas that would require more research... Why don't you write on the the Board? cc @euaccofficial
