The problem with Disco was that every Disco song was a dance number. Pure POP automated music. No Love Songs, Ballads,etc. The problem with Punk and Heavy Metal became that it was all power ballads and hard core flows, not really usable on the Dance Floor. This is why Disco morphed into Hip Hop and Punk and Metal into New Wave and then ultimately Alternative.
