It's been 10+ years for me since I had a job like that, and I still don't really understand why people were so horrible to me sometimes. Best I can figure is that some people just abuse power dynamics the 1st chance they get, not comprehending that "today might just be the day"

She sounds like a terrible waitress. Why the hell is that regular interaction making her irate? Chill TF out, it's not that serious... How are you going to deal with clients in the real world with true concerns if you can't even deal with something this trivial?

I hate to tell you, but this doesn't have anything to do with age. See, what you had there was what we call a POS. POSs have no defining physical characteristics, they are identified by their narcissistic, arrogant, ignorant, and rude conduct. I personally believe it's a religion...

Ok girl…as a server, you need to 1 calm the eff down…2. Either figure out where your “service limit” is or get a different job…. Everybody who works in a customer facing business has a limit of how many hours you can deal with the general public and still be able to see them as they are, imperfect people….something happened in that lady’s life to make her behave that way…maybe her dog just died, her husband ran off with a waitress…. You have NO idea what’s going on with her….you’ve dealt with much worse and were able to let it go…but when you are working beyond your “service limit” you turn into a raging lunatic over stuff you’ve heard 100’s of times from other tables….
