Even though I was baptised Catholic as a baby, I grew up in an atheist household. In retrospect, the grace of Jesus in my life has been undeniable. He has never failed me. Not once. However, I was not always aware of it, unfortunately. Therefore, I behaved accordingly. One year ago, at one of the lowest moments of my life, I completely surrendered to Him. I was confused, lost, scared, and anxious. But He was there, waiting for me. Since then, my faith has been proven in the most bittersweet ways. But just as He didn’t allow Peter to drown, He didn’t allow me to do so. Since I have use of memory, I’ve been in fight-or-flight mode. But He allowed me to relax, to embrace uncertainty, to lose control, to finally be a happy, excited, spoiled kid. Today, after visiting all the places where He walked, taught, lived, and died, I made it to the Jordan River, where He was baptised. My idea was to rent a gown, pay a priest, and get baptised as a Catholic at the very same place where my Lord, Jesus Christ, was baptised. But He wanted to remind me that I am not in control of my life: He is. So it was all closed and empty. No gowns, no priests. He is always there for me, though. So He made my baptism even more magical. I know it is symbolic since I was already baptised. But this is a personal reminder that I am a child of God, that He forgave me, that He is my God and my Lord and my Saviour, that He died for us. And just as He rose from death, I was reborn. With the only purpose to follow Him, to honour Him, and to live for Him. I could have waited and come back another time in the future. But life is short and we need to make Heaven crowded. Thank you, Jesus.

Dear Pst. Poju, Good morning Sir. I attached a video of my shoutout to TCN for celebrating 30 years. I remember you organising a retreat for us at ASCON badagry (a territory I lived in, ravaged with occultism and diabolical doings, with youths losing their lives sporadically over the years to juvenile violence). I lent transport fare to come for the retreat, without a thought of how to feed. Surprisingly you fed us, and gave me a personal room to rest after prayer, hitheto unprecedented in my life's experience. You asked us to draw a landmark and cross over and never look back and I could tell from that moment, the trajectory of my life changed and I started gathering momentum. I can't explain it all in one mail but it's being a great journey for me. You led me to my territory and by Christ made me conquer before setting out to other territories to become productive in life. As a graduate, I didn't have a job and I felt stuck. For every Sunday when I had to go catch the free bus you provided to church, I stepped out in confidence knowing I could never be a matyr, and not a dingle strand of my hair ever fell to the ground. Over the years things began to change, and I am where I am today by God's grace and your teachings. But this one is a thank you…even though we have a long way to go with reconciliation in the Catholic Church, Pope Francis gave the apology for the role the Catholic Church played in perpetuating the horrors against our children. I believe he was sincere. And I was there to document it. Here is the moment when Pope Francis gave the LONG awaited apology in Rome, 2022. I am in the Vatican press room. I was stunned.
