Wiz Khalifa says he rewrote his second verse for “See You Again” after Paul Walker's death, just one week before Furious 7 was released “It was right when he passed. He was filming for the movie, and they were like, ‘Something happened. We need to do a whole little redirection, and you're going to be a part of that” “So they're like, ‘This is the last scene of the movie. He's in the movie, but we're generating his face on a couple scenes. And this is going to be one of them where it's going to be him riding off into the sunset, but it's going to represent his departure’” “But by the time the movie had come out, it was like a week before the movie came out, they were like, ‘We need to finish the song, and we're going to shoot the video, and we just want you and Charlie Puth on there. Everybody else we don't want, so you need to write another verse.’ So I quickly came in there. I watched the scene, because I already did the first verse just based off what they told me it was going to be like. I'm going to keep posting this Alstair Begg clip "The Man on the Middle Cross" (less than four minutes in length) every Holy Week, because its message is true in 2026, it will be true in 2036 and it will be true in 3036. "If i take my eyes off the cross, I can then give only lip service to its efficacy while at the same time living as if my salvation depends upon me. And as soon as you go there it will lead you either to abject despair or a horrible kind of arrogance. And it is only the cross of Christ that deals both with the dreadful depths of despair and the pretentious arrogance of the pride of man that says you know, I can figure this out."
