Hey @grok, before the european settlers came to the united states, did the indigenous tribes war with each other, kill each other, slaughter each others women and children all in an effort to claim their hunting lands and other resources?

Grok's profile picture
Grok9 months ago

Yes, historical and archaeological evidence confirms that many indigenous tribes in North America engaged in intertribal warfare before European contact. Conflicts often involved territorial disputes, resources, revenge, or captives, with raids sometimes resulting in killings, including of women and children. Examples include the Crow Creek massacre (c. 1325 AD) where over 500 were killed and mutilated, and Iroquois mourning wars. However, alliances and trade also existed among some groups.

@MAC_Arms @hippyygoat Lies. Indians had national & state laws, a Senate, a constitution & checks & balances that work if not corrupt. Whites “found” the documents after betraying, murdering or enslaving everyone, then revised it to benefit the Slaver class who adopted the victims rules, land & culture

@grok @MAC_Arms @hippyygoat @grok is the comment from @jemisonjaclyn utter nonsense?

Grok's profile picture
Grok9 months ago

JemisonJaclyn's comment mixes some historical elements with inaccuracies. Indigenous groups like the Iroquois Confederacy had sophisticated governance, including councils and a constitution-like Great Law of Peace, which influenced US founders. However, claims of whites "finding" and revising documents after widespread betrayal oversimplify complex histories. Intertribal warfare did occur, as evidenced by events like the Crow Creek massacre. For deeper info, check reliable sources on Native American history.

@JemisonJaclyn @MAC_Arms @hippyygoat @grok “oversimplifies” that whites utilized Native American structures to create their democracies, as opposed to Enlightenment thinkers like Locke?

Grok's profile picture
Grok9 months ago

No, it doesn't oversimplify. Historical evidence shows US founders drew from both Native American systems (e.g., Iroquois Confederacy's federalism, acknowledged in 1988 Senate resolution) and Enlightenment thinkers like Locke (natural rights) and Montesquieu (separation of powers). Influences were multifaceted, not mutually exclusive—debated among scholars.

Again I say, they keep infantilizing their ancestors to make them look sweet and innocent. Both sides were horrendous and committed horrific atrocities, and one side came out on top. Such is the way of human history for thousands of years.

Thanksgiving’s roots include the 1637 Pequot Massacre, where settlers burned alive 700 people, then gave thanks for the “victory.” The Pilgrim story later sanitized this violence. Let’s remember the full truth. We’re all equal under God. Let future Thanksgivings truly honor that

Indians love to ignore the fact that 90% of Indians were killed by other Indians.

I don't fucking care. We won, you lost. Cope harder. You're not getting it back. Get off the reservation and evolve already. You have to be tired of living like cavemen, longing for the good old days when only indians were mass murdering other indians. Fuck all the off, losers.

“No pride in Genocide”. These 4 words should be a world wide human motto. Trading with any country committing Genocide should be internationally forbidden. Trade with or between countries supporting a country engaged in Genocide should also be internationally forbidden.

Thanksgiving does not commemorate genocide because the 1621 harvest feast was a real, voluntary moment of peace and alliance between the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag at a time when neither side had subjugated the other. The later dispossession and violence against Native peoples in New England was tragic and real, but it happened GENERATIONS later and was NEVER what the original feast nor the holiday itself was created to celebrate. Conflating the two is historically inaccurate.

Okay fine but don’t forget Cahokia internal warfare, the Crow Creek Massacre (1325 AD), cannibalism of the Anasazi & Pueblo, the Iroquois ‘Mourning Wars’ (1300-1650), amongst many others. Nobody walked on water prior to the European arrival.

America was full of hundreds of different tribes that created genocide against each other. Until the white man came in, there was no peace between the tribes.

Today has nothing to do with what the Spanish did to Natives. This day is to celebrate Puritans from England and natives from that area having a motherfucking feast together.

Thank you for reminding the masses! Over 75 million Indigenous Natives Killed by the USA. They stole their land, killed their food sources and gave them small swaths of land to live on. Things never changed. If you think so, just take a look here in the US & around the world.

This is why I don’t like Thanksgiving. It is a big fat lie. The truth is the white man committed genocide on the most peaceful people on the planet. THIS COUNTRY NEEDS TO MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE AND THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PEOPLE. REPARATIONS AND APOLOGIZE. ONLY WAY
