Louisiana is La. Its one word. LA is 2 for Los Angeles. Why tf would you capitalize the a in a single word with only 1 capital letter?

It’s “L.A.” (no space between the first period and the “A” either), unless the reference is used in a logo or otherwise completely unique (eg. UCLA). Context is everything. I love L.A.❤️💩
I have never written "L.A.", it's always "LA". 99% of the time people won't confuse it for Louisiana because of... context clues. Plus, when talking to anybody outside of the US, they will know "LA" as referring to Los Angeles; most aren't familiar with state abbreviations.
