Jayapal: I’m somebody who feels like it doesn’t matter what you want to call it, but we have to disband ICE. We have to abolish ICE. Whatever word you want to use, what we need to get to is the end result: ICE should not exist as it exists. And DHS should not exist as it exists. There’s no reason for DHS to exist. Immigration is a civil enforcement matter. It is not criminal. And that’s what people keep not understanding. It is a civil enforcement matter. It used to be handled out of the Department of Justice as a civil matter. Now it’s been criminalized. It’s been put into this massive agency that was created after 9/11 that should not be there. It is completely unaccountable and sprawling.

No complaints here. John Donnelly saw red in Salthill and it was the right call. Leading with the elbow into an exposed player’s head is dangerous, full stop. That’s how jaws get broken. That’s how careers get impacted. This type of hit has been creeping into the game over the last few years and referees are clamping down on it. The panel on The Sunday Game said he’s not that kind of player. Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t, but he learned a hard and valuable lesson. Protect the player. Protect the game. Well done, Ref.

NFL teams are entitled to hire who they feel is best for the coaching job, & at head coach I believe that’s moved beyond color. Now, it’s time to create better resume & career building opportunities for minority to combat nepotism. The entire football world knew Jerod Mayo was fired so Robert Kraft could hire Mike Vrabel. Vrabel is an excellent choice, but the hiring process made a complete mockery of the Rooney Rule. I know it, the Patriots know it, the NFL certainly knows… but more importantly the very coaches it was intended to help know it. I don’t believe the Patriots need to change, but the NFL needs to. The agent who fired was not hit, not run over, and not in the vehicle’s path. Two shots were fired as the car was already driving away. That is not lawful deadly force. That is bad policy producing bad outcomes. Swanson is blunt about the force continuum. You do not shoot people who are fleeing. You do not shoot when you are not in danger. “Tough on crime” slogans do not override use-of-force standards, no matter how loudly MAGA politicians repeat them. What follows is worse. Learn the tools. Ask better questions. Get your life back.

I literally wrote a book on cancel culture, so I’ve had some time to think about it. Cancel culture is when someone is unfairly destroyed for holding a mainstream opinion or making an honest mistake. It also means literal deplatforming or firing. It's mob rule dressed up as morality. But that’s not what this is. When someone like Tucker Carlson chooses to platform Nick Fuentes—a self-proclaimed neo-Nazi who’s said “Hitler was really f**king cool” and openly admits he’s in politics to “hate women and be racist”—that’s not a mistake. That’s a very deliberate choice. Ben Shapiro put it perfectly: Tucker Carlson is a launderer of disgusting ideologies. He takes reprehensible views and tries to make them palatable to the mainstream. For years, he has lied about me. Repeatedly. Why? For attention. Provocation creates attention and makes Tucker more money. I’m glad others are finally waking up to who he really is. Tucker Carlson has every right to host whoever he wants. Nick Fuentes is free to say whatever his racist, hollow heart desires. And the rest of us, people with a conscience, are free to say: this is wrong and I want no part of it. That’s not “cancelling,” that’s freedom of association (get it now, Kevin Roberts?) If we can’t draw the line at neo-Nazi, racist incels… where do we draw it?

Why 2024 and 2025 felt almost the same. Because they were part of the same cycle, not separate chapters. Think of them as Part I and Part II of one lesson. 1. Bores: They’re seeing all of these impacts, and they’re asking what the government is doing about it. And that’s not to say there aren’t some benefits to AI, but there needs to be reasonable regulation. They look at D.C., and with the exception of Bernie Sanders and a few others, mostly they see people either not doing anything or just cheering on the industry and saying, “Let’s get out of their way and let them have their will with the American people.”

The ones fed up with doing the same things over and over and never getting a different result. The ones tired of the same old failed approaches. Enough is enough. Let’s build an army of Patriots.
