/9 Joe Pease, an Australian artist currently based in California, is widely recognized for his cinematic collages. He is known for featuring mundane objects like parking lots, cars, and people and transforming them into surreal mesmerizing loops.

/9 Joe's upbringing in Australia revolved around skateboarding, and his skills were even recognized by Australian SLAM Skateboarding magazine, which referred to him as an astonishingly talented skateboarder.

/9 As an avid skateboarder himself he naturally found inspiration in the skateboarding scene, and it was no coincidence that his style developed after watching the movie "Mouse" by Girl Skateboards (excerpt below). It involved everything from stop motion to visual effects.

/9 A pivotal moment occurred in 2013 when he was chosen as one of the Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors for their award show. This happened while he was still working in a warehouse. The crazy idea that he could somehow transform his passion into a profession slowly emerged.

/9 The show featured his video which was inspired by an essay: "It is not uncommon for children to play with their shadows or to imagine that they are tangible. However, in order to grow up, children must leave behind this fantasy...no one ever fully grows up" (Excerpt below).

/9 For years, he created motion art for himself and his Instagram followers. But with the advent of NFTs, he discovered a permanent space for his artwork to exist. His genesis piece on @SuperRare, called "Controlled Chaos," was collected by @rudyadler.

/9 Joe's work surprises. There are always one or more characters who break the pattern by performing strange and unpredictable actions. Seeing an office desk and a printer continuously spitting out sheets of paper at a crossroad definitely hits different.

/9 Joe's last piece, "Out of Time," adds new elements such as rapidly changing backgrounds, viewable mirrors, subtitles, excerpts from other works like "Feedback System" and "Everything is Temporary," repeating actions, and figures appearing out of nowhere (credits: @mackxdav).

/9 Joe's work hits differently and is amazingly creative. I look forward to seeing more of his work and hopefully adding a piece to my collection someday (one can dream). Thank you for reading. I appreciate you all. ❤️

Thank you so much. Really grateful for the write up.

Glad (and relieved) you like it. Love your art.
