This turned out to be one of the worst presidents for Black Americans actually He catered to white America, gave cops extra protection with his blue lives matter law, he lied about Flints water being clean enough to drink, chastised Black American graduates at every commencement speech and rejected reparations While Really being white & kenyan, which makes sense now but didn't back then because everybody was "just black" if you had melanin back then for most of us

He was the first president I voted for at the age of 18 while I attended a HBCU (WSSU). The night of the elections, the whole campus was so lit. There was nothing but laughter, joy, tears, that song "My President" by Jeezy played on blast. It was a great time and I miss those days.

I remember the reaction from other parts of the world. From London to Melbourne, most people were celebrating.

To be able to experience this in real time was such a wonderful feeling, I remember exactly where I was! I remember getting to see the Inaugural Parade live on TV. Michelle looking so elegant in her olive green, and witnessing them dance and the inaugural ball was truly a time!

I thank GOD everyday I got to see this in my lifetime. Knowing what my ancestors who were slaves had to endure I’m grateful at LEAST I got to see this and be legally free and considered human in this time for me and FOR THEM. Sheeesh

First President I ever voted for. I remember being at an election watch party at an HBCU. The energy in that space was something I’ve never felt before and haven’t felt since 🧡

I was crying tears of joy! What I was feeling inside is indescribable! That moment to be present for was everything 🤎

The feeling when that happened was so powerful and wonderful. The hope he talked about seemed just a finger tip away. We are always gonna love him and Mrs. Obama for all they did and continue to do.☺️

I definitely remember that moment when he was elected president! I was on the phone with my sister right when the announcement was made. She started crying and I said “I can’t believe we were alive when history was made in America!” And this happened the day before my birthday! Not a bad birthday present!👍👍👍
