I have met with a lot of successful Nigerians making the most of their opportunities abroad. Japa has many good stories, do not let any tales of doom abroad fool you. Whilst some hate to hear or read about it, I have also met more than a few Nigerians who found more success because they returned to Nigeria or indeed moved to Nigeria for the first time. Japa stories are a dime and a dozen, the Japada stories deserve to be told too. This is why I am looking forward to Omowunmi Onalaja and her guests, some of whom you may already know, who are doing extraordinary work here in Nigeria. If for nothing, they can inspire those who need that little push to make the move of a return to Nigeria, after finding out Japa may not be for them.

Did FPS games peak in the 90s? I guess the newer ones have better graphics, but do they really "feel" better in terms of gameplay and fun? Unreal Tournament (Epic Games, 1999) was one of the best of its kind. A favorite for our LAN sessions back in the day. Carrying a 21" mintor over to your friend's house felt a little less heavy when you knew you'd be playing Unreal later that day... Exellent and colorful graphics (even on PCs that weren't high end, like those you needed for Quake III Arena for example), great sound, and your typical capture the flag or deathmatches - I mean, what more did you need? Plenty of "Game of the Year" nominations (with some wins), the highest critcal acclaim, and massive sales numbers. I think we can all agree that Unreal Tournament belongs in the Hall of Fame of FPS games. Or maybe I am just getting old and gloryfing things from the past too much.

Good morning everyone. For just about 6 years now I've been working full-time with Thomas Frank for the "Thomas Frank" and "Thomas Frank Explains" channels - and have loved my time. I consider Thomas one of my best friends and am very blessed to have someone like him in my life - but as of now, I am officially looking for my next full-time job. Tom and I will still be working together until the end of August (unless I find my next job sooner) so until then, I will be exploring my options and seeing where my next endeavor can be. I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do next and while I still love Video Editing, I would like to consider bigger roles - such as being a Video Producer since I have an understanding of all aspects of production, or maybe management. Those aren't the only roles I would like to explore - just ones that "feel right". It's also important to me to feel I am "growing" in my field or helping a company grow, rather than just maintain what's there. It's part of why I love working with team Thomas Frank, we always have goals. Whether that's producing better content, better organization in Notion, creating "Thomas Frank Explains" (which I am so proud of given how many people love our Notion videos), creating Flylighter - it's always exciting to see what we can do by taking risks and even if I am no longer helping Tom's growth, I can't wait to see what they cook up moving forward. Exploring Opportunities 🎥 With the unknown future of Oxygen Esports I am deciding to look at my options for new Producer positions within Esports. The last 2 1/2 years have been a dream traveling around the world capturing content for some of the biggest titles in esports. Thank you to Oxygen Esports and my co-workers who always believed in my work and encouraged me to always trust my gut and be creative. I have 20+ LAN events under my belt in the last 2 years alone. My strong suits are photography and videography. I have experience with Lightroom, Photoshop, and can edit in Premiere Pro. I can also produce LIVE and edited podcasts for YT or Twitch. I enjoy doing Pre and Post Production for videos. Everything from brainstorming, story boarding, and scouting locations to editing, sound design, and music. The beautiful thing about baseball is that every year it reminds us what actually matters. This weekend, a small school like RiderBaseball stood on the same field as some of the biggest programs in the country and proved we belonged. We played Florida. We played Troy. We competed and outplayed them. And while everyone loves to talk about velocity, spin rate, and radar guns, the game told a different story. We hit home runs against 96+ mph fastballs. Because velocity alone doesn’t win baseball games. Command wins. Location wins. Changing speeds wins. Executing fundamentals wins. As a pitching staff, we averaged around 87 mph, one of the lowest velocity staffs in the regional. Yet we weren’t overmatched. We defended. We ran the bases. We executed. In many areas of the game, we outplayed the teams we faced. The difference? Pitch command. Not velocity. Young players and training facilities across the country are chasing radar gun numbers as if that’s the answer to everything. Velocity absolutely matters. It can make a good pitcher better. But velocity without command is just a harder batting practice fastball. The greatest lesson from our regional experience wasn’t how hard Florida threw. It was a reminder that baseball is still baseball. The game still rewards players who can locate.The game still rewards players who can execute.The game still rewards teams that defend, communicate, run the bases, and do the little things right. That’s what makes baseball, the greatest game in the world. A small school with less resources can still stand toe-to-toe with anyone because the game doesn’t care about budgets, facilities, rankings, or social media hype. It cares about execution. Baseball will always humble will always expose your weaknesses.But it will also reward the teams that master the fundamentals. And that’s why a small school from New Jersey can walk into a regional and shock the world. The game is still beautiful that way.

A few years ago, Brad Underwood shared what coaching is really about after a tough loss. Now he's in the Final Four - proof that this mindset works. "When you're invested in it - our whole locker room was that way. You got coaches crying. Something comes to an end." "You realize we spend way more time with them than we do our families. And so you build a bond, you build a connection." That's the cost of caring - it hurts because it matters. "We're a family. Every player that's ever played for me is part of our family." "They've got my number. They can call me now. They can call me 20 years from now." The relationship doesn't end when they leave campus. Great leaders are transformational in life not just transactional. Then he called out what most people miss: "You guys make it about all the wins and losses." "25 years from now, some of those kids - I hope I'm still alive - are gonna pick up the phone and call me and need me. And I am there for them." That's the real scoreboard...The relationships. "That's why it hurts. That means I know I've connected in the right way with a group of guys that I loved coaching." Great coaches don't just develop players. They develop people who become part of their lives forever. "Unfortunately, we came out on the wrong side today. But I'll have nothing but positive things about this season and this group of guys." A person asks Sadhguru, “How much weight training exercise do you recommend?” And Sadhguru answers, “Weight training is not useful, but do 25-50 Surya-Namaskars, it is complete exercise.” First of all, I am not sure why anyone would ask someone like Sadhguru, who is most of the time, in another dimension, a question on exercise and weight training. And secondly, Sadhguru is just plain wrong. Weight (or strength) training is one of the most important aspects of exercise regimen you can include in your daily or 3-4 times a week physical activity because there is great science behind its benefits. I advise my obese or sarcopenic (very poor muscle mass in advanced liver disease) patients to include weight training to improve clinical outcomes. The highest level of scientific evidence showed that standard muscle-strengthening activities were associated with lower risk of death in patients with non-communicable diseases – including cardiovascular disease, diabetes and lung cancer. Another metanalysis showed strong evidence for a considerable risk reduction of strength training for 60 minutes a week, on all-cause death (−15%), cardiovascular disease death (−19%), and cancer death (−14%). The findings of another systematic review/metanalysis support power (strength) training as an effective therapeutic intervention for improving physical function in adults diagnosed with frailty (poor physical function in old age) and patients with chronic medical conditions. See here: In fact, another study on strength training, this one again a metanalysis, concluded that strength training interventions can be used as a non-drug treatment for hypertension (!), as they promote significant decreases in blood pressure. In Iyengar Yoga there is a way, in Ashtanga Vinayasa Yoga there is Type A and B and there are other types followed by other schools or Yoga teachers. Along with the stretching and jumping, which is done is a slow and steady manner, the practice includes chanting a “mantra” calling out twelve names of the Sun God. In its classical form, Surya Namaskar is not an exercise, and is not aerobic. The energy cost of exercise is measured in units of metabolic equivalent of task (MET). Less than 3 METs counts as light exercise; 3 to 6 METs is moderate; 6 or over is vigorous. American College of Sports Medicine and American Heart Association guidelines count periods of at least 10 minutes of moderate MET level activity towards their recommended daily amounts of exercise. For healthy adults aged 18 to 65, the guidelines recommend moderate exercise for 30 minutes five days a week, or vigorous aerobic exercise for 20 minutes three days a week. Surya Namaskar in its classical form has a measly 2.9 METs and in its rigorous form (some people perform mutated highly active forms of Surya Namaskar to make it feel like an exercise) can go up to 7.4 METs – which requires a lot of jumping and little stretching and no time to chant the Sun God names - does not even come close to strength training by any margin. HONOURING THE GLAMOUR BOYS...⚽️🏟️ The weekend fixture between DEMBARE and MAKIPEKEPE was nothing short of sporting EXCELLENCE at play, and I extend my congratulations to CAPS United for your victory. Football is about COMPETITION and celebrating the BEAUTY of the game !!! HOWEVER, what genuinely SURPRISED me during the match was the level of RIDICULE, and UNNECESSARY MOCKERY directed towards my promise to Dynamos if they WON the match against CAPS UNITED, which I made during my interview on Capitalk FM last week. A PASSIONATE Dynamos supporter had requested that in the event DEMBARE wins, I should buy the club a BRAND-NEW BUS. I was looking at some of these budget items and it’s just sickening how these GoK mandarins loot. Why are the office of president, statehouse receiving separate allocations? 🚨 FRAUD COACHING CLASS BUSTED BY MNS! 🚨 In Kalyan, a man posing as a GST officer was exposed by the MNS Student Wing for running fake coaching classes under the name “Siddharth Logic” for UPSC, MPSC , banking and other competative exams. ❌ No real teachers ❌ No training ❌ Fake credentials ✅ Fees collected: ₹30K–₹50K from over 400 students!💰 Estimated scam: ₹20–30 lakh! In Kalyan, near the railway station, a man named Siddharth Singh Chandel, posing as a GST officer, was exposed by the student wing of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for running fraudulent coaching classes under the name “Siddharth Logic”, claiming to offer coaching for UPSC, MPSC, banking, and other competitive exams. Following numerous complaints from students, MNVS District president Mr. Paresh Chaudhary and MNVS City president Mr. Vinod Kene confronted the director of the classes. When Siddharth Chandel failed to give any satisfactory answers nor documents, MNS took strict action against him. It was discovered that through two branches in Kalyan and Navi Mumbai, an estimated 400 to 500 students were charged fees ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 each. In reality, there were no qualified teachers, no proper training, and not even a single experienced faculty member. Once students realized they had been scammed and demanded refunds, they were allegedly threatened. The total fraud is estimated to be around ₹20 to ₹30 lakh. Furthermore, Siddharth Chandel, who falsely claimed to be a GST officer, had no official documentation or credentials to prove his claim. Upon discovering the scam, MNS student wing officials took immediate action and handed him over to the police. After rounds of 67, 68 and 68 Lee Westwood has a share of the lead at LIV Golf Singapore with Jaoco Niemann and he says a win tomorrow would probably be the best of his career: “I guess at the age of -- I'm 53 on the 24th of April, so at that stage, it would probably be the best win of my career. I get asked that question a lot, and I normally go back to the '97 Australian Open beating Greg Norman in a playoff as certainly my favorite win, and then obviously winning at Sun City with my wife carrying my golf bag, I have to then say that that's one of my favorite wins or she's clips me around the ear. “But all of my wins have special memories. But to still be competitive at my age and up there and having chances to win tournaments like this is validation for driving myself on and doing all the hard work and practice that nobody sees and still being competitive, like I say, and having a good enough game to compete against them.” He went on to talk about how comfortable he feels playing in Asia: “Yeah, I've always loved coming to Asia. I set my stall out the beginning of my career, coming to Malaysia and places like that. I went to Japan very early on in my career, 1994, for the Acom International, and then I played Visa Taiheiyos and Dunlop Phoenix and won three Visa Taiheiyos in a row and a Dunlop Phoenix back-to-back with the Visa. I won the Malaysian Open. One place I haven't won is Singapore, so it would be nice to add that to the list. I came close in 2005. Adam pipped me. “I don't have too much of an issue with the heat for some reason. It's hot, but you just deal with it, right? I'd rather play in the heat than the cold. My body seems to loosen up in these conditions, which is a bonus. “I've always enjoyed coming to Asia, and I class myself as a player that's played a world tour all my career. I never really wanted to stay in one spot. I never really wanted to play the PGA TOUR full time.
