This is SO ahistorical. "Commercial success" today isn’t what it was for a Black man in the 70s–80s. For Michael to break into & dominate spaces that were once exclusively white, he had to create groundbreaking art & set unprecedented artistic standards to not just to reach the top, but to stay there for DECADES. MJ only ever spoke of innovation & quality. He took 5 years to develop each album, looking for original sounds, techniques and ideas that are still fresh today. That’s the only way he COULD have possibly achieved that level of success.

Jani wasn’t just a pretty face from the glam era, he was a songwriter who turned heartbreak, regret, and self destruction into anthems that still hit hard...I miss this guy...🖤
