Michigan Dem Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed declined to disavow any of Hasan Piker’s views as the two joined forces on the campaign trail. “This whole gotcha game … cancel culture, I thought we were over it,” he told our Adam Wren. We have our disagreements there but that is what democracy is about. Democracy is complicated. This legitimizes the smear, unfortunately, and it also doesn't make anybody happy. There are going to be a lot of people who are already questioning Abdul El-Sayed's sincerity on these issues that will then turn around and say, 'he's moderating his position on Israel!' I don't think he is. I will say this: I am literally the person that is being dangled and I'm going to tell you once again; he's not moderating on his perspective on Israel or anything like that."
