In China the CCP kill Canadians who deal in hard drugs, without CCP authorization.

Non Canadian born MP @maggiechidvn advocates for non-citizen criminals to keep their passport when they're found to be breaking the law. What is it with these liberal MP's that believe being a criminal shouldn't come with stigma?

Deport her for being a Chinese agent.

That is EXACTLY why I say foreign MP's like @maggiechidvn shouldn't be in parliament. They dont work for Canadians.

Maggie Chi now seems to be representing all kinds of criminals. It looks like people linked to Chinese Communist government are terrified of losing their Canadian passports.

@BrettBitches Where do non citizens get charter protection? Shown me in the charter anyone?

I could NOT care less about a non-citizen becoming "stigmatized" if they have to surrender their passport after being arrested of a crime. To avoid them fleeing the country this sounds like a wise idea. The non-citizen is treated like a citizen as they MUST face the courts.

Anyone wanna tell @maggiechidvn that it's no different for anyone who commits a crime in Canada that could be considered a flight risk? It isn't 'stigmatization' Maggie, it's our judicial system doing it's job to protect Canadians while also ensuring those charged don't flee.

What does China do to non-citizens who commit serious crimes? Let’s do that.

@God4me123 Even citizens are asked to surrender passports in such situations.

Surrendering passports is to prevent flight from the courts. I don’t care what she thinks. China would not hesitate to restrict many things far worse. At least you can reside peacefully at your house.

Right. But let's stigmatize tax paying Canadians who do not want a vaccine.

Hey dingbat, anyone who is considered a flight risk has to surrender their passport. Quit making everything about yourself.

Yet another reason why no one foreign born should be allowed to hold political office.

As a Chinese citizen, I have to say this plainly: Don Valley North has been heavily infiltrated by the CCP. Anyone trying to run there is effectively forced to work with CCP-backed groups—and the MP from that riding is very likely taking direction from the Chinese consulate.

This is absurd, Canadian born citizens are also required to surrender passports, depending on the charges and flight risk. The SAME as temporary folk, visitors, and PR.

Let's have all the Liberals that are squaking for the non citizens open their homes and have them move right in with them See how fast the Liberals come face to face with the reality that they are fighting so hard for, all the while stepping on the true real Canadian citizens' rights

Maggie Chi is another example of why Canada is so fucked up. This is insanity. She represent China’s best interest. Now you understand why our police forces are in bed with triads organized crime for decades. Shelley Carroll and Maggie Chi both kowtow to foreign powers. She is a traitor from Markham.

I am concerned that the interpretation of the CHARTER is extending beyond fairness to our citizens at large. I get human rights, but we have to restrict social nets for a reason. Private charity does exist. Even foodbanks were a private charity initiative to address hunger. It’s getting a tad weird with widening interpretation that seems to privilege only the government not the people.

@kate_local Every other nation on earth compels non-citizens to surrender their passport while awaiting trial - hell, we do it to 🇨🇦 citizens all the time.. Why should foreign nationals be exempt??

Non citizens have no rights under Canadian law and should be deported immediately if charged with any offense. Try that in China sweetheart.

Mark Carney defends Liberal MP who promoted kidnapping of Conservative rival for CCP bounty Mark Carney, the Liberal establishment's globalist golden boy and heir to the Trudeau throne, is standing firm behind embattled MP Paul Chiang—even after Chiang was caught encouraging the kidnapping of his Conservative rival, Joe Tay, in service of a Chinese Communist Party bounty. Yes, really. Chiang, the Liberal MP for Markham–Unionville, stands accused of encouraging individuals to abduct Tay and hand him over to Chinese officials for a $1 million bounty tied to Tay’s outspoken criticism of Beijing’s human rights abuses. If this sounds like something out of a bad Cold War thriller, it isn’t. It’s just another day in Carney's Canada. When asked by reporters on Monday morning about Chiang’s role in promoting transnational repression, Carney brushed it off as a “learning opportunity.” According to Carney, Chiang will remain on as a Liberal candidate. This, from the man Liberals pitch as the “grown-up in the room.” Mr. World Bank. The adult Trudeau’s cabinet never had. And now, he’s green-lighting one of his MPs shilling for the Chinese Communist Party’s hit list. Chiang attempted to put out the fire with a social media “apology,” claiming he reached out to Tay to make amends. But Tay isn’t buying it. Tay added he’s been in contact with the RCMP over safety concerns—even before Chiang’s disturbing comments came to light. Let’s not downplay what’s at stake here: Canadian citizens have been executed in China in recent years. Chiang was effectively suggesting that Tay be handed over to a regime with blood on its hands. And Chiang didn’t suggest just any place to drop Tay off—he pointed to the same Chinese consulate in Toronto where diplomats were previously caught intimidating Conservative MP Michael Chong over his criticism of Beijing. Meanwhile, the so-called “Foreign Interference Commission” continues to shield the names of 11 parliamentarians implicated in CCP influence operations. And thanks to the Liberals proroguing Parliament for their leadership swap, none of the commission’s recommendations have been implemented ahead of this election. All of this is happening while Elections Canada is now providing private security to threatened candidates. A shocking but unsurprising development in a country where a Liberal MP can promote foreign-sponsored abductions with zero consequences. Let’s cut the nonsense: if a Freedom Convoy supporter had suggested kidnapping Chrystia Freeland and turning her over to Russia, the regime would have unleashed a crackdown so brutal, the illegally invoked Emergencies Act would look like a picnic. But Chiang? Nothing. Not even a slap on the wrist. The message is clear: if you're a Liberal MP promoting foreign dictatorship tactics, the Liberal Party will protect you. Mark Carney will praise you. And the media will memory-hole you. REPORT by Sheila Gunn Reid:
