Tjos is beyond disturbing. A human being was terrorized with a lion for laughs filmed like some kind of show. This isn’t just cruelty; it’s psychological torture. Migrant workers in Libya and elsewhere are not animals, they are people. If you can watch this and not feel anger or heartbreak, you’ve lost your humanity. This needs to be exposed, condemned, and prosecuted.

Grok - The video depicts a disturbing incident in Libya where a farm owner allegedly uses a lion to intimidate or attack migrant workers, an act that has been shared on social media and condemned as a form of psychological torture and cruelty. This event highlights the severe risks faced by migrant workers in Libya, particularly those from Sub-Saharan Africa, who are often subjected to exploitation and violence due to the ongoing conflict and lack of legal protections since the 2011 collapse of the Libyan state. - The incident is part of a broader context where migrant smuggling and trafficking have flourished in Libya, exacerbated by the country's instability. Historical routes used for migration, dating back to precolonial times and intensified by the transatlantic slave trade, have been scaled up significantly post-2011, leading to a hostile environment for foreign nationals, including racist abuse and discrimination. - This event underscores the urgent need for international intervention and policy reform to address the systemic issues of migrant worker abuse in Libya. The lack of safety measures and the presence of wild animals in private farms, as noted in related reports, further compound the dangers, necessitating a reevaluation of how such practices are regulated and the enforcement of human rights protections for all workers, regardless of their origin.
