We're challenging the Government's decision to cut two-thirds of England’s dedicated funding for walking, wheeling and cycling. Please support our legal challenge if you can

Try being a wheelchair user (myself) or a parent with a child, or a visually impaired person or many many other reasons why this is wholly unacceptable and anti-social behaviour on the part of the people who choose to park like this. They should be handed ASBOs at the very least.

@Havant_Enviro I have been known to knock on people’s front door - and ask them if they know who owns the particular car on the pavement outside their house. When they confirm it is theirs, I remind them that the footway is for pedestrians’ safety; and I ask them to move their car. Endless task

In the streets near me where this happens, I don't try to contort myself through the ever-diminishing gaps, I walk in the road. When a car comes along, the driver just has to wait until I reach a clear length of pavement. I make pavement parking their problem. Seems fair.

My watch has a metal wrist strap and it’s very hard to avoid the paintwork in this type of situation

And let that pedestrian push a wheelchair, as we did for 18 months, caring for an elderly parent 😡

This is appalling! Why do cars have more rights in this society than people? If you're elderly or disabled how on earth are you supposed to navigate a PEDESTRIAN pavement in this illegally confined space!?

I walked up Penwith Road Wimbledon to Durnsford Road and a lot of cars were parked on the pavement..made legal with faded white lines. It was quite an unpleasant experience having to faff about when meeting someone coming the other way.I was not in a good mood after that.

Councils at fault wheel chair users like my cousin has no end of frustration but these people are right at the end of the pecking order & people who park in a disabled bays that are not badge holders need a fine & points on their licence the councils don't want to deal with it
