📹 Kurdistan24 Exclusive Footage Footage shows a protest in Qamishlo, Western Kurdistan, where demonstrators are demanding full Kurdish-language education. Protesters cried, "No Life Without Language". Protesters say the Syrian government has allocated only three school subjects to be taught in Kurdish, a provision they argue falls short of their demand for Kurdish to serve as a full language of education. The protest comes amid a broader push by Kurdish political and civil actors in Syria to reverse decades of policies they say marginalized Kurdish language, culture and identity. Days earlier, the Kurdish National Council's Afrin branch submitted a formal appeal calling for the restoration of original Kurdish names to villages, towns and geographic landmarks changed during decades of Arabization policies.

Thousands of people gathered at two vibrant Kurdish cultural festivals in Stockholm and Sundsvall, celebrating Kurdish music, dance and food. It was especially encouraging to see the strong sense of community, and the Swedish-Kurdish entrepreneurs who are helping to keep Kurdish culture vibrant and visible in Sweden.
