Yesss! Kind vibes only ✨

I fully agree we should look at others for inspiration and not to directly copy their work. But I'm curious at what point you would define someone as a copycat. Multiple people can come up with a similar/the same idea independently. If someone builds the product 1st, is the 2nd now a copycat? People can even look at existing products and create their own versions which improve on certain aspects. Is this a copycat? For example, there are plenty of Next.js boilerplates out there. I'm sure some have been created after seeing the success of existing ones. If someone creates a Next.js boilerplate offering identical features to an existing one but has written the code, integrations etc their own way - is this being a copycat?

Nope, it's not. ShipFast is not the first boilerplate, and certainly won't be the last. But copy-pasting a landing page, changing colors, and calling it a day, is copycat and unethical.

Be a 🦍, not a 🐱

Oogah Boogah 🐒

Marc I'm speechless. If you ever raise, I'll be first in line to back you. Your ability to capture attention is I'll say best in the world today.

Rejected kid Marc can now be 100% genuine and it works a bit. Thanks, John, appreciate the kind words.
