A scandal is brewing in Russia after 23-year-old blogger Maria Shalaeva posted a video of her and her son flying to Rostov on a military plane. Note: Rostov-on-Don Airport has been closed since February 24, 2022 for an indefinite period. On her Instagram page (Instagram is banned in Russia), Shalaeva had multiple videos where she talked about her lover - “Mister X” as she called him arranging military transport for her to travel. The speculation about the identity of Shalaeva’s mystery lover is growing and so is indignation. Here are some reactions from Z-patriots: “In the fourth year of the war, officials continue to throw a shameless feast during the plague and are not shy about it at all. They just feel like some kind of separate caste together with their relatives and mistresses, which is what they directly declare. And at this time, an ordinary soldier from the battlefield is collected in a bag of bones.” - TG channel “Мобилизация” “But “Mr. X”, as Shalaeva herself called him, could just be an invented person. So, THIS is what I'm talking about. Something about this song always stood out, but I never bothered finding out what it means, until someone asked, 'When was it that Cihan fell in love?' To me, it's this moment. He's sure he's in love with Alya here. Him singing "Akşam olur karanlığa kalırsın" is his way of telling her of his love and secretly bidding her goodbye (because he knows she's planning on leaving, and as we later learn, he intends to let her go.) When you learn about the song, it's so damn obvious. It's an Anatolian folk song about unrequited love. So while Ciho knows and accepts his feelings, he's pretty sure Alya feels nothing for him. Which is why he's so freaking surprised when Alya hesitates at the airport, and doesn't leave. And, just look at the lyrics. “Akşam olur karanlığa kalırsın / Derin derin sevdalara dalarsın” Evening comes, you’re left in the dark / You drift into love(s) so deep Cihan knows Alya is about to leave; he's heard her secret plan. So, basically, by evening, he knows she'll be gone, and he'll be alone, drifting in the memories she left behind. “Oy gelin gelin sevdalı gelin / Öldürdün beni” Oh bride, love-struck bride / You’ve killed me This is the painful, ironic bit. She is his wife, his bride, but in name only. They get married out of convenience, out of necessity. But Ciho does the unthinkable and falls in love. To him, she has no such feelings, so love-struck here can mean her own dreams, her own life, anything but him. And, that's what's 'killing' him. He loves her, but he can't even confess his love to stop her from leaving him. “Bülbül ne ötersin yuvanmı yoktur? / Yoksa benim gibi sevdan mı çoktur?” Nightingale, why do you sing, don’t you have a home? / Or do you, like me, have too many loves? In eastern poetry, the nightingale or the bulbul is symbolic of a tragic lover, one who constantly laments the absence of his loved one by singing. No guesses for who the bulbul is in this situation. Then the rhetorical question, 'Why do you sing nightingale?' We know Ciho is singing out of his love for Alya, and the second line, 'Or have you, like me, loved too deeply?' Ouuff. This poor boy is suffering, and suffering badly. He can't say he loves Alya aloud because he knows she's not ready, so he sings it for her, hoping against hope she'll understand. Then comes the whopper: “Ellerin elime değdiği zaman / İster ölüm olsun ister ayrılık” When your hands touched mine / Let it be death, or let it be separation This bit sounds a little, how shall I say it? Depressing? But it's not. The line 'When your hands touched mine' to me is indicative of all the rare moments of warmth they've shared. And the line ' Be it death or be it separation' is his way of saying, he'd rather have all those moments and lose her, than never having touched her, known her, or loved her at all. Like they say, it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. So, yeah. This moment, right here, to me, is Cihan's first confession. And what a beautiful confession it is. It's subtle, like him. It's deep and meaningful, without being in your face. And, here's the best part - you can clearly see what he sings gets through to Alya. Because her expression is so tragic, so melancholy, like some part of her knows he's spelling out his love and saying goodbye. And who knows, maybe that's the reason she can't leave at the airport. Her subconscious picks up on what Cihan is trying to convey, and that's what leads to that struggle between her mind and heart. Masterfully done. Not appreciated enough. And, all the kudos to Sinem and Ozan for portraying it so beautifully that even non-Turkish speakers get the gist. #CihAl #UzakŞehir

Howard Hawks on working with Marilyn Monroe: "Marilyn Monroe was the most frightened little girl who had no confidence in her ability. She was afraid to come on the screen. Very strange girl. And yet she had this strange effect when she was photographed. Nobody dated her, nobody took her out, nobody paid any attention to her. She’d sit on the set with practically nothing on, and a pretty extra girl would walk by and everybody’d whistle. But she got out in front of the camera, and the camera liked her, and all of a sudden she was a great sex symbol. Fortunately, I had her in a couple of the first pictures that she did 'Monkey Business' (1952) and 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' (1953), when she wasn’t worried. And also I had Jane Russell’s help in making 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'. We had a lot of fun doing the picture, but there were a lot of times when I was ready to give up the ghost. Jane Russell would say, “Look at me—all he wants you to do is such-and-such a thing.” And Marilyn would say to her, “Why didn’t you tell me?” But I had an easy time compared to some of the directors who worked with her afterward. Because after she got very important she became more and more frightened, and she just didn’t want to come out and do a scene. She didn’t think she was good enough to do the things that she did. She was always better in fantastic material, wasn’t she? Like in 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'? There wasn’t a real thing about her. Everything was completely unreal. They tried to make her play real parts in a couple of pictures, and the pictures were disasters. 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' was the first one where she really went good, and then they had no sense to stick with that." The incident happened at Taste of Heaven Espresso in Seattle which is owned by 23-year-old Emma Lee. The argument happened after the man started complaining about the $22 price tag on his 32-ounce coffee and 24-ounce water. Lee spoke out about the incident on Instagram. Last Monday, on the 18th of May, at around 6am, one of our own became a victim of the very thing we are trying to raise awareness about. She was violently carjacked by machete-wielding African youth in Victoria. Bat Hasbara had stopped at the laundromat in Keysborough to dry her work jacket on the way to work. She was waiting out the front in her car when she was confronted by an aggressive African man who opened her car door and aggressively attempted to drag her out. She fought back and tried to push and kick him away while he threw several punches at her face and body. Another African man then approached the altercation armed with a machete. Although she put up a fight, they managed to violently drag her out and took off in her car, which contained all of her belongings-her phone, credit cards, identification, and keys to her home. Thankfully, onlookers heard the noise and ran over to help her. There were no serious injuries, but due to their aggressive and violent nature, she is quite badly bruised and scratched up. She has had to change the locks on her house and, thankfully, already had a security and camera system installed. She is understandably still shaken up but wanted her story shared to help raise awareness. Police reports were filed and her car has now been located. The car wasn’t smashed or set on fire-it was just dumped after they’d had their fun. Her phone and credit cards were also located and had been thrown away, which goes to show these weren’t poor struggling immigrants who attacked for monetary gain. This was African machete violence and theft committed by two men aged between 16 and 20. Why? Because they can and they know they get away with it due to a weak court system. This was an opportunistic, violent, and aggressive crime committed by foreigners who prove time and time again that they do not belong here, nor do they deserve a chance at a better life in our country. We have become so desensitised to these attacks constantly happening, especially in Victoria. We speak about them in our spaces, make posts about them, and see them on the news. But when it happens to you or someone you know, it’s a scary reminder of just how real this problem actually is. We need to get louder. We need to make more noise, because the reality is that any one of us could be next. The only thing that will fix this is removing those who do not belong. We need instant deportations of criminal immigrants and the remigration of foreigners. We deserve to feel safe in our own country. Watching her grow and succeed has been truly inspiring. From her acting to her confidence, her determination to her grace, she continues to amaze me with every project she takes on. I am so proud of all that she has accomplished and the light she brings to the world. Her ability to face challenges with strength while staying true to herself is something I deeply admire. Becky, you are an incredible role model and a beautiful soul, and I will always be here to cheer you on. 💖 Moving on! 😁 Let’s take a moment to appreciate that #FreenBecky, honestly, are a flawless duo. If you disagree, well, I hate to break it to you, but that’s just delusion speaking. Facts are facts, whether you like it or not! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Take a moment to consider that Becky’s name is part of FreenBECKY. They are recognized because of that, went global because of that, and, as a result, have been able to take on many more solo projects while also gaining even more recognition both individually and as a CP. How can you claim to care about Becky while constantly tearing her down? If you truly support her, it means embracing all aspects of her life, who she is, who she chooses to be with, and the people she collaborates with or considers her friends. It’s disheartening to see these so-called 'fans' trying to control her life. They undermine her, disrespect her, and throw insults with no regard for her feelings or well-being. In it she claims she drove from Charleston to Miami, passed Palm Beach where they "used to live", drove by the house and saw two kids’ scooters outside. According to her that made her angry because "this should have been us" and that they talked so much about having a family and a future. First of all, the Isle of Wellington is a gated community with 24/7 security. You don’t just casually drive through there unless you actually live there or have access. So the whole "I just happened to drive by the house" story already sounds questionable. But the bigger issue is the narrative she keeps pushing. Liam already HAD a family. He already HAD a child. Bear wasn’t some future dream, he was Liam’s reality. Liam literally bought his home, so he could live closer to Cheryl and Bear and be present in his son’s life. And what happened next? Kate made it very clear how much she hated the UK. The weather made her "depressed", she hated the lifestyle, hated being there, hated everything about it. So Liam ended up moving to Florida. Away from his family. Away from his son. So hearing her now talk about "this should have been us" and some fantasy family future is honestly unbelievable when the reality is that Liam had already built his life around being close to his child until she came along and couldn’t stand living in the same country. And let’s not forget the irony here. When Kate turned 24, Liam chose to go to Bear’s birthday party instead of celebrating hers. Because he’s a father. And what did she do? Yet she complains about the online hate she receives 🤦‍♀️ At first I thought maybe her level of nasty & crazy is put on, it’s got to be parody, comedic sarcasm…I mean surely someone who had suddenly gone from some corporate job to being thrust into the ahem Australian spotlight wouldn’t be so dumb as to not only put herself in danger by the disgusting & vile things she says about people, men in particular but surely she values the potential of ahem rising fame which will come with a bigger income so she wouldn’t want to jeopardise her revenue base & “stardom” but over the last couple of years it’s occurred to me that she really is batshit fucking crazy & an evil piece of work where I’m convinced that there has to be a special place in hell reserved for people like her when her time comes, surely🤷‍♀️

IQ as a measure simply doesn't work for women the way it does for men (totally serious point that Lukas (computer) 🔺 is making partly as a joke) IQ is a direct measure of "how good is this this person's brain at solving logical puzzles" Turns out that this is a great proxy measure for a lot of things because the world provides all kinds of logical puzzles to solve; this is not a great proxy measure for women across a bunch of areas since women have an entirely different set of solutions open to them Classic example of this here 👉 "Why *think* about this and maybe get it wrong when 'make a lot of noise and let a man figure it out' is an option?" This is the same reason why it's difficult to compare the intelligence of wolves and dogs by seeing how well they do when presented with a problem - wolves will attempt to solve the problem to the best of their ability, dogs will attempt to figure out what the nearest person wants the dog to do Especially in matters involving sex (and almost everything with women in our society involves sex) women are adapted to an environment where the outcome of their actions isn't about what would logically happen but about what people would decide for her when she acted that way

"Mayor of Skid Row" Kevin Call speaks to John Huddy on Karen Bass: "Had a meeting with her the day she got elected when she told us that she would turn this city around and she began to work with the homeless." "I asked her, 'What are we gonna do about this crisis? We got the Olympics coming here, we got the World Cup coming here...." Huddy: What was her answer? Call: "I'm working on it. I'm working on it, but how long can you work on it?" Huddy went on to show a police helicopter heading into the city and said they're hearing sirens down that way. He also spoke with a man living on skid row who asked if he could smoke before going on camera. John allowed it thinking he was talking about smoking a cigarette he was rolling, but he pulled out the crack and smoked it instead. L.A. can never improve with leader who do not believe change is possible. It's so easy for Bass to ignore these issues because they've been around for so long. Spencer Pratt is ready to attack these problems head on because he's seeing it and he's sick of it. Pratt wants a better L.A. for all and the real people of Los Angeles are behind him. We're about to see some great things out of Spencer Pratt in Los Angeles. I truly believe it! Get out and vote for Spencer Pratt if you're in L.A. because he's your only hope.
