Recently, the football world received some devastating news. Chris Johnson — the man we all know as CJ2K — has been diagnosed with ALS. Before we dive into that, let’s retrace our steps a little bit. In March of 2015, a vehicle occupied by Chris Johnson stopped at a red light. A 2nd vehicle rolled up beside them and opened fire, filling Chris's vehicle with holes. The driver was killed in the shooting, while Chris was hit in the arm. But the shot was more serious than a typical flesh wound. There was severe nerve damage. It was so bad that Chris thought his career might be over. “I was contemplating retirement,” he said. “Knowing if I can't use this hand, I can’t play football no more. “So much pain. My hand was so f----d up. I couldn’t touch nothing. I couldn’t use nothing.” Chris eventually regained use of his hand and rushed for 814 yards in just 11 games. He’d play a few more seasons after this, and then he'd retire after a total of 10 seasons in the NFL. During that time, he made an All-Pro, 3 Pro Bowls, and led the NFL in rushing yards with his legendary 2000-yard season. He broke and still holds the yards-from-scrimmage record, and he also had 500 rec yards that year. In retirement Chris was enjoying his family, his kids, and his wife. Lifting up his daughter to blow out candles on her birthday cake, and working out and staying in solid dad shape. And after a lifetime of watching film, he’d taken an interest in scouting. So 2 years ago Chris had it all going for his post-football career. Taking care of the family and even looking into a second career. But then something changed. In 2025, Chris had a flashback. But not of his time on the field. "I first noticed weakness in my right hand," he said. "At first, it was little things like my grip didn't feel right and I wasn't as strong as I've always been." After a series of tests, a doctor told Chris that medication may extend his life but just by a few months. Then he gave advice that no one ever wants to hear from a doctor. He told Chris that he and his wife should get their affairs in order. ALS is a degenerative neurological disorder that shuts your body down piece by piece, eventually leading to complete paralysis, and as of now no cure has been found. In a cruel twist of fate, the fastest running back to ever play the position has developed one of the fastest-moving cases of ALS, as it typically takes 2-5 years to spread, but has left Chris almost completely paralyzed just one year after he noticed his first symptom. "It's continued to progress much faster than I ever imagined. I want people to understand just how quickly ALS can attack your body," he said. "Just over a year ago, I was picking up my 7-year-old daughter so she'd make a wish with her birthday cake. Today, I couldn't do that." "I can't even hold a cup if I try, and that's despite being diagnosed relatively early and doing everything we can, including participating in multiple experimental treatments," Chris Johnson said. Chris was once the most free man on any football field. Now he’ll likely be restricted inside his own body for the rest of his life, and that's gotta be so hard. Still, he's making these appearances and wanting to help others now and in the future of this disease.

They have a very small population. They say Denmark, but Denmark has spent no money, they have no military protection. They say that Denmark was there 300 years ago or something with a boat, well we were there with boats too I’m sure. So we’ll have to work it all out… We need Greenland for national security, not for minerals - we have so many sites for minerals and oil and everything - we have more oil than any other country in the world. And I feed my hunger for fiction with what is by far the most accomplished source: those great American TV series, like 'The Practice' inspired a video by David Bowie and a film by Terry Gilliam. And there’s also a bar called “La Jetée,” in Japan. Interviewer: How do you feel about this cult? Does Terry Gilliam’s imagination intersect with yours? Marker: Terry’s imagination is rich enough that there’s no need to play with comparisons. Certainly, for me '12 Monkeys' (1995) is a magnificent film (there are people who think they are flattering me by saying otherwise, that 'La Jetée' is much better—the world is a strange place). It’s just one of the happy signs, like Bowie’s video, like the bar in Shinjuku (Hello, Tomoyo! To know that for almost 40 years, a group of Japanese are getting slightly drunk beneath my images every night—that’s worth more to me than any number of Oscars!), that have accompanied the strange destiny of this particular film. It was made like a piece of automatic writing. I was filming 'Le Joli mai' (1963), completely immersed in the reality of Paris 1962, and the euphoric discovery of “direct cinema” (you will never make me say “cinema verité”) and on the crew’s day off, I photographed a story I didn’t completely understand. It was in the editing that the pieces of the puzzle came together, and it wasn’t me who designed the puzzle. I’d have a hard time taking credit for it. It just happened, that’s all. Chris Brown pleads guilty to affray in the case of a producer hit with a bottle in London and faces three years in prison. On July 24, Breezy and his codefendant, HoodyBaby, both entered guilty pleas in Southwark Crown Court in London to attacking a producer at Tape nightclub in Mayfair three years ago. After originally being charged with suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, both men pleaded guilty to affray, violent or threatening behavior that makes another person fear for their safety. Brown and HoodyBaby were arrested last May after the singer arrived in the U.K. for his Breezy Bowl XX Tour. Authorities say Chris hit producer Abe Diaw over the head with a bottle, while HoodyBaby punched the man in the back of the head. A lawsuit filed by Diaw in connection with the incident was reportedly withdrawn by Diaw last summer. Brown's sentencing date has been scheduled for Oct. 26, which means he could miss the final leg of the R&B Tour with Usher if he is sentenced to jail time. The maximum sentence for the crime is three years in prison. “There is no place for serious violence like this in London and I’m pleased these men accepted what they did wasn’t just completely unacceptable – but criminal," said Metropolitan Police Detective Constable Zara Ripamonti in a statement. We end the week on a heartbreaking note. You will remember little RPD Stanley from HMPPS Operational Dogs and HMP Wormwood Scrubs. Stanley has not been well for a while now, and we have been supporting him for the last few months, knowing it would give him more time with his devoted Dad and handler Chris, and his partner Karen. They had a lovely Christmas, but Stan has deteriorated over the last week and yesterday, after a day of no yucky meds, and whatever he wanted to eat, he slipped quietly over rainbow bridge at home - surrounded by familiar smells, love, and cuddles. We’ve got to know Chris and Karen so well and our hearts go out to them both. It’s the worst decision to make, all dog owners know that - but they had to do what was best for him. It would have been Stanley’s 11th birthday today. They decided to let him go yesterday, as Karen said, today may have been his earthly birthday, but instead it’s his Birth Day into his new life, and we rather like that thought. Stan served for 9 and a half years - his finds were legendary. Two particularly memorable discoveries: After a search of one cell under suspicion - with nothing found - Stan kept ‘knocking’ on the next door, and Chris suggested they put him in. He popped onto the top bunk, and immediately put his paws on the wall and stared at the light. When they removed the light fitting, contraband ‘ literally rained down’ on them all.. A huge find. Another search, and Stan was ‘knocking’ round the base of the loo. They looked under at the floor - nothing. But Stan was insistent. He was right, the loo bowl had a false bottom, and there it all was. He always found what he was looking for, and it was only due to ill-health he retired. He was brilliant at his job. Sadly, a long retirement was not meant to be, but what an epic life he led - and what a character he was. Happy Birth Day over rainbow bridge little Stan - you will be missed so much. Sleep well, and thank you for your loyal service. 💜🐾🐾💜

I am a J6er. Wait for the end. "I know I'm old, but it's time." J6 was the first political event of any sort I attended. Covid and the biomedical police state woke me up to critical thinking. Then I watched Seattle burn, while Seattle City Hall got opened to BLM and ANTIFA rioters with no repercussions. I was new and naive enough to politics to think that was happening for conservatives. As I approached the capitol, I was overwhlemed with the crowd, the yelling, the smell, i knew I wasn't processing everything, there was just too much. My defense of election integrity and advocating my 1st amendment rights have cost me a wife, a business, a best friend, 2 dads, 2 cousins, and a stepson. If you don't think you're under attack like I am, then that's because Satan doesn't think he should waste his time with you. Communism is Satan’s religion. Now I don't say that to be disrespectful. I urge you to find your path, and it's not the one of least resistance. The obstacles in my path are not obstacles they are the path. Work harder. God Bless the J6ers.

In my final post about #BadBunny’s #SuperBowl half time show: whoever was around in the end of 90s and early 2000s, surely remember the phenomenon #RickyMartin was in the U.S. and Europe. The #LivinLaVidaLoca craze was one of the biggest I’ve seen in my lifetime, something not even #BadBunny himself got close yet. And even at that level, and despite singing in English for the Anglo markets, #RickyMartin was never in a stage of the #SuperBowl . Even being bigger than anyone else in his peak wasn’t big enough for a Latino to be front and Center on that stage. Just few years ago, the #SuperBowl still thought even freaking #Shakira wasn’t big enough for their stage so she would just be allowed there if sharing the space with #JLo. That’s how far we came to see,in 2026, a Latino like #BadBunny singing in Spanish as the main act of the event. And the fact that Benito brought #RickyMartin, who opened the doors for the latino stars to do the crossover & compete on the same level as the English speaking mega pop stars, to this stage, was a beautiful recognition of the role Ricky had played for almost 30 years ago so this moment could be even possible today. And in a way, a reparation. TONIGHT was live history in so many levels. Again, #BadBunny could have made this concert all about himself, about his momentum, his career peek. But the choices and decisions he made for this show, way beyond himself, are what exactly will perpetuate the legacy and importance of this moment.

James Gandolfini died 13 years ago today on June 19, 2013, from a heart attack at the age of 51 while vacationing in Rome, Italy. The world has been a shittier place since the day we lost Gandolfini- there is no other way for me to put it. 🚨Dr. Nada, who was on a medical mission in Gaza, shared this memory about my cousin’s son, Kinan a five year old boy, the only survivor of his family after an Israeli airstrike. “One of the best things that ever happened to me in Gaza was a five-year-old boy named Kinan. He had lost everything — his mother, his father, his three brothers — all taken in front of his eyes. He survived with his bowels torn open, his tiny arm crushed in pieces, still plastered, still healing. And yet, he was the one who healed me. Every time I sat on the hospital floor, tired, broken, trying not to cry, he would come to me with his little smile and say, ‘Don’t be sad, Aunty Nada. They’re in a happy place in heaven. Take a deep breath. Trust God’s plans.’ There were no psychologists, no therapists, no playrooms. But there was Kinan — a miracle of resilience, a child who carried more grace than the whole world’s experts combined. Today, I say goodbye to a place that, for five seasons, was much more than a club. It was my home, my challenge and the place where my family and I built such an important part of our lives. I leave with a heart full of memories and enormous pride for everything we lived and achieved together. When I arrived, I had a clear dream: to leave my name in this club’s history. I knew the only way was through hard work, sacrifice and achieving something that had seemed so difficult for so long: lifting a trophy again. **And we did it.** The journey wasn’t perfect, but I don’t want that to define my goodbye. I choose to remember the happy moments, the lessons, the people who stood by me and, above all, the love I received during these five years. Thank you to everyone at the club who shared this journey with me. Coaches, teammates, staff and every person working behind the scenes you are all part of my story and have a place in my heart. I had coached Sunghoonie for five years during his time as a figure skating athlete. Back then, he was very shy and introverted, but in sports he was extremely hardworking, a quiet yet relentless “tough” worker. When I asked him during his time balancing figure skating and idol trainee life whether it was difficult, he would always say he was so happy he didn’t even feel the hardship. That teenage boy has now grown into a remarkable idol and singer who tours the world. His once-introverted personality seems to have disappeared, as he now captivates audiences and communicates with fans so naturally, making me think about how much effort he must have put in over the years. It surely was not easy given his personality, but rather than feeling proud or simply impressed, I found him admirable, remarkable, and truly worthy of respect. Today, the remains of a fallen U.S. Navy sailor were flown into Little Rock's Clinton National Airport, greeted with a reverent hero's welcome to the state he left more than 80 years ago as a teenager. Fireman 3rd Class Royle Bradford Luker was just 17 years old when he was killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was one of the 106 crewmen on the USS West Virginia who were killed in the attack. For decades, he was listed as killed in action, but his remains were deemed non-recoverable. Through recent advancements in DNA technology and the work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, F3C Luker was identified. In the years since the "date that will live in infamy," F3C Luker was awarded numerous honors for his valor and sacrifice, including the Purple Heart. A procession by Arkansas State Police, Little Rock Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies accompanied F3C Luker today on the final leg of his trip from Little Rock to Dardanelle. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at New Bethel Cemetery near Plainview in Yell County. His return home is a solemn reminder that America does not forget those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Today, the remains of a fallen U.S. Navy sailor were flown into Little Rock's Clinton National Airport, greeted with a reverent hero's welcome to the state he left more than 80 years ago as a teenager. Fireman 3rd Class Royle Bradford Luker was just 17 years old when he was killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was one of the 106 crewmen on the USS West Virginia who were killed in the attack. For decades, he was listed as killed in action, but his remains were deemed non-recoverable. Through recent advancements in DNA technology and the work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, F3C Luker was identified. In the years since the "date that will live in infamy," F3C Luker was awarded numerous honors for his valor and sacrifice, including the Purple Heart. A procession by Arkansas State Police, Little Rock Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies accompanied F3C Luker today on the final leg of his trip from Little Rock to Dardanelle. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at New Bethel Cemetery near Plainview in Yell County. His return home is a solemn reminder that America does not forget those who gave their lives in service to our nation.
