@dgship_goi With that logic we should cancel license of high schools for students failing! What non-sense!

Indian Bans its Seafarers to sail with many Foreign Certificate of Competency such as Honduras, Belize, Togo, Gabon, Panama...etc I shall take this up with DG SHIPPING for review. Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India Surgical action taken. Issuee Circular 31 of 2025 on 18 July 25. All Seafarers must read this Circular otherwise you will regret and suffer. Attached Circular is 6 page and it affects 400,000 strong Indian Seafarers. I feel 10,000 Indian Seafarers jobs will be lost immediately on one side and on the other side illegal business of ₹10 Cr will get stopped.

This Old Light House, rising above the Bay of Bengal, has stood here since 1836. For nearly two centuries, it has watched over this coast. It has guided ships, supported maritime trade & helped seafarers. A lighthouse has always stood for guidance, safety, and steadiness. For seafarers navigating the Bay of Bengal, the beam from this tower was a signal of safety. The sea is beautiful, but it is also unforgiving. Those who live by the sea understand this better than anyone else. - Smt Nirmala Sitharaman in Puducherry (1/n)

It is one of the gravest assaults on Democracy in our history. Never before have students been beaten, dragged, and treated like criminals for raising their voices. Home Minister Amit Shah must be held accountable! In Bihar, reports indicate use of AK-47 against students. True? Why are students being picked up in BJP ruled states? Those responsible cannot escape accountability.

Silence is costing Indian lives. Yesterday, Mozambique-flagged LPG tanker MT Disha carrying 28 Indian seafarers came under attack in Iranian waters. Videos clearly show the targeting of accommodation area — deliberate attempt to kill crew or destroy living quarters. By God’s grace, all 28 are safe. This is not an isolated incident. It is the same pattern: vessels with full Indian crews are being systematically targeted. Yet the response remains the same — silence. No strong voice in international forums. No visible support to families who have already lost their sons, fathers and brothers. No accountability for the Indian seafarers already killed in earlier attacks. How many more close calls and body bags will it take before India speaks with the force this crisis demands? Our seafarers are not collateral damage. They are Indian citizens. #MTDisha #IndianSeafarers #Hormuz #SeafarersLivesMatter #Accountability Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Randhir Jaiswal Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) International Maritime Organization United Nations International Labour Organization FSUI Manoj Yadav l मनोज यादव

Today I announced support for HB 1285, which will further cement Florida as the best state in the nation for education. Some of the reforms it institutes include: - Simplifying the process to get failing schools turned around so no child is stuck in a poor-performing school, - Incentivizing school districts to grow their roster of Purple Star Schools to support military families, and - Streamlining the content objection process for parents and preventing activists from making bad-faith objections More to come on this legislation tomorrow. Florida is #1 in education!

Today, I'm signing HB 3663 into law that provides greater restitution to the wrongfully imprisoned in Illinois. The Certificate of Innocence Act is a lifeline for those unjustly treated in the criminal justice system — making it possible for them to get back on their feet.

URGENT APPEAL Two Indian seafarers remain stranded for 12 months on vessel #PSD-1 at Port Bushehr, Iran. In a war zone with continuous attacks nearby (within 100 metres). On 5 March, they jumped into the sea and swam to the port to save their lives — only to be forced back on board by the owner. No salary for 12 months. No lights. No generator. Severe shortage of water and food. No repatriation. They are living a life of imprisonment, abandoned like on a deserted island. The Indian Embassy has issued an advisory for Indians to leave Iran. We strongly request that these two seafarers also be accommodated under the same advisory for their immediate repatriation. Randhir Jaiswal Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways India in Iran Please act now to bring them home safely. #SaveSeafarers #IndianSeafarers #RepatriateNow #FSUI International Maritime Organization International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) FSUI Manoj Yadav l मनोज यादव

Ossoff: This is why things don’t work for ordinary people. It’s not because of trans kids or woke college students. It’s not because of our new arch-enemy… Canada. The corruption is why you pay fortune for prescriptions, why your insurance claim keeps getting denied, why hedge funds get to buy up all the houses in your neighborhood and Congress doesn’t do anything about it. This is why so many have lost faith in our system. Because the system really is rigged. But Trump is not unrigging it, he’s rerigging it for himself.

People who always wonder why PhD aspirants leave India en masse for abroad should see the insane level of corruption having in its premier institutes 🇮🇳 This is from IISER Kolkata, one of the most prestigious research institutes in the country > Corrupt guides don't help students, forcing them to rely on generosity of seniors > They are entitled to 25 days of leave annually, but don't get approved by guides > Even money sent to them by GOI is confiscated by guides > If students protest in issues like RG Kar incident, guides threaten them with resignation > If a person leaves a job, they can join another one somewhere else. But if you leave a PhD programme after 5 years, you have to start from scratch elsewhere. > SRF nets you about ₹42kpm, on which many also have to support their families. > If you're from a poor or middle class family, it is very difficult to go forth into a PhD programme C: BatelaBaaj

In USA only 48% of all driver license applicants eventually get a license. More than half get rejected! In India all 100% get it, most of whom don't deserve it. And ignorant vulnerable bikers pay the highest price for it. 44% of all road deaths in India are bikers- many of those candidates you see here squeezing past a large van without waiting a few seconds for their own lives. ZERO RISK PERCEPTION. Is it morally acceptable that we issue licences to earn revenue but eventually let them die on the roads because we didn't prepare & test them enough? Isn't it better we eliminate bad drivers at the RTA rather than on the roads? Better driving can only come from Driver Education and rigorous testing. Empty grounds for license testing is killing lakhs of Indians each year. When will our RTA wake up to this reality? MORTHINDIA Nitin Gadkari #RoadSafety

#WATCH | Mumbai, Maharashtra: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat says, "... Instead of harbouring fears of the partition of India in 2047, imagine the rise of an undivided India in 2047. The Sultans and emperors who ruled here for 500 years couldn't do it, the British couldn't do it in 200 years, so why would it happen again in independent India? This is not 1947. We have progressed a lot now. Those who try to break India will themselves be broken. India will be united. This will happen, and we will make it happen. If you strengthen this resolve in your mind, then the plans of those who are dreaming these nightmares will never succeed. We are strong people, we will not let them do this, think like that..."

I wanted to share something relatively mundane in comparison to what happened at Cornell, because every day versions of my story happen. Was it rape? No. Was it wrong? Yes, and no one stepped in. It took these people being personally impacted by this man for his poor behavior to matter to them. It is everyone’s responsibility to say something when they see something wrong. Not doing so only enables it.

Why is it so hard for regular folks to get by? Because the system is rigged against us (and rigged in favor of someone else). I'm running to change that -- and to create permanent affordability in Wisconsin. Who's with me?
