They forgot that the most important part of the story was Joel-Ellie relationship. It was not a teenage love story. Ellie’s life turned upside down when Joel died. Everything else was a distraction for her.

also she reacts ACCORDINGLY to the situation and themes of the game, it's not supposed to be a "yoohoo me and my pregnant girlfriend in an adventure to kill abby and live happily ever after!!!" kind of story. cannot take anyone who enjoys this seriously.
