Lineup Preview Friday July 10th Cubs @ Reds

Reds fan here, Carl. Does Kelly hold his glove above his mask before the pitch for every pitcher or only Imanaga?

He does it more with Shota because he’s severely target driven and benefits from the visual cue. A lot of his success derives from his command of the top part of strike zone. So he works primarily off that pre pitch visual to execute the whole bag. Like a good change works off that high fastball. A good breaking ball. Etc. It all works off commanding the top of the zone which would never ever in a million years happen if Shota was American. We don’t teach that approach at any level below AA. And that’s part of what makes Shota effective despite such underwhelming stuff. It’s very unique

Thanks. I found it interesting considering he throws the split so much at the bottom of the zone. Obviously it worked tonight, but most things work against our lineup.

Shota is extremely interesting to watch game to game and you’re smart for picking up on how Kelly works with him I feel for Reds fans bad. So much talent. Tito past his prime. So much history and significance and bonding with locals. Easily the biggest gap right now in modern baseball vs. history is how sad the Reds have been when they should be the shining example of what a ball club means to its fans. All love here. Good luck to both teams

Do me a favor and tell Craig to bench Happ against the reds for forever. He kills us. Hard for me to hate a fellow Bearcat, but he found a way. Best of luck.

We lost Carl so @BarstoolChief could say doo doo fingers every daft and the midget @barstoolWSD could say I reserve the right I be wrong, sad sad sad

The visual of the aftermath OF the damage is insane.

Bring back milf Monday Mike. Been too long
