As the Connecticut Huskies attempt to win another national championship tonight against Michigan, Alabama Men’s Basketball fans still hear the echos of two years ago when the Crimson Tide finally crashed college basketball’s biggest event for the first time on April 6, 2024. Inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., the Crimson Tide’s breakthrough season reached its crescendo in its first Final Four appearance against the Huskies. As a No. 4 seed coming out of the West Region, the magical run ended with an 86-72 loss, but not before the Crimson Tide proved it belonged on the grandest stage. Mark Sears led the way with 24 points, five rebounds and three assists, continuing his March brilliance. Grant Nelson delivered a monster effort with 19 points and a season-best 15 rebounds for a double-double, while Aaron Estrada added 13 points as Alabama fought to keep within striking distance deep into the second half. Stephon Castle scored 21 points, Donovan Clingan had 18 and Tristen Newton controlled the game with 12 points and nine assists. When Alabama clawed back to tie it in the second half, UConn answered with a decisive run. “We got this program to its first Final Four, and I’m unbelievably proud of these guys,” Alabama head coach Nate Oats said. “We just went up against the best team in the country and they showed it.” Two years later, as Connecticut chases another title, that Saturday night in Glendale stands as more than a final score in Alabama history. It redefined the ceiling of a program and created an expectation to get back.

Well. My team is out. Belgium sent us home 4 to 1, and I have made my peace by eating a waffle out of pure spite. So now I watch the rest for the love of the game. And I have picked a horse. Well. Actually, I picked a longboat. I am riding with Norway. Five and a half million Vikings against the entire world, led by that six foot four Norse god Erling Håland, who already threw Brazil off a cliff on Sunday. Do not act like you are not watching too. Now, some perspective, because people forget how hard this thing is to win. In 96 years, only eight nations have ever lifted the World Cup. Brazil, 5. Germany, 4. Italy, 4. Argentina, 3. Uruguay, 2. France, 2. England, 1. Spain, 1. That is the entire list. And here is the joke nobody says out loud. Every single one is from Europe or South America. Every winner, every finalist, 96 years running, two continents. The Dutch, the Hungarians, the Swedes, the Czechs, all European bridesmaids. Nobody else has ever even reached the final. So let us be honest about what this actually is. The World Cup is a European and South American Cup, and the rest of the planet gets a lovely invitation to come lose in the group stage. And before anyone cries, we would do the exact same thing. Give us a World Championship of American Football and it plays out identically, just with the flag flipped. Sure, Belgium shows up. Curaçao shows up. Everybody gets a jersey and a nice hotel. And they all go home in a barrel. Even Canada, right next door, cannot hang, because they are off playing their mutant cousin version with three downs and a field the size of an airport. Bless them. It is almost football. That is what a home sport looks like. The World Cup is just soccer’s version of it. And two of the names on that trophy belong to countries that do not even exist anymore. West Germany won three titles before the wall came down. Czechoslovakia reached two finals before it split in half and vanished off the map. Whole nations came, competed, and disappeared, and the trophy outlived them. So here is where we are, and the bracket does not care about your feelings. Argentina still has to get past Egypt today. Switzerland draws Colombia today. Then France gets Morocco, Spain gets Belgium, and my Norway gets England. You have to pick one. Everybody does. And it says everything about you. Some of you will pick the favorite. The safe money. The chalk. And some of you will ride the long shot, the little country nobody believes in. So which are you. The one who confidently picked the Soviet Union to win gold in 1980, right up until a bunch of American college kids walked onto the ice and ruined your whole afternoon? Or the one who always, always bets on the miracle? I know my answer. Five million Vikings and a thunder god. Skål. Let’s ride.

June 4th, 1994 our lives forever changed. We said, “I do!”. With those two words, we said, yes, to all the highs, the lows, and everything in between. God has blessed us with four absolutely amazing children who are now amazing adults, with their own best friends/significant others (that they’re doing life with), we have three incredible grandsons, and a beautiful granddaughter on the way. We’ve lived where we both grew up (on the East Coast), and have now been out here in San Diego for just over 11 years. We’ve gotten jobs (and lost jobs), we’ve had more times than we can count where we couldn’t make ends meet, even though both you and I were working two, and sometimes three jobs at a time, and we’ve been blessed in ways that we could’ve never dreamed of. We’ve watched both my parents pass on, and are now dealing with the overwhelmingly difficult challenge of seeing your parents struggle with their own health in ways that no one should have to go through. Through it all (even in the midst of the chaos), we’ve been blessed to be by each other‘s sides! I thank God for you every day, Jillian! I love our adventures together (the big ones where we fly to somewhere we’ve never been before, and the little ones where we hop in the car with no agenda, and just drive). I love when we find ourselves in deeper conversation, laughter, and tears of joy then ever expected, and in the moments of silence, where no words are even spoken, but when we’re together, just being where our feet are. As the world (as we know it), keeps getting crazier and crazier, let’s continue to keep Christ in the center of all we do, keep leaning on and lifting each other up when it’s needed, and keep living the lives that we have been so incredibly blessed to live together. I love you with all my heart Jillian. Happy 32nd (heading into our 33rd year), Anniversary.

Shifting focus to 2025, RHP Tyler Bremner (UC Santa Barbara Baseball) is one of my favorite College arms in the class. As a freshman, Bremner split time between the bullpen and the rotation and pitched his way to a modest 5.37 ERA with an impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio of 80-to-17 across 55.1 innings. Bremner has a lean, athletic build at 6'2" and 180-lbs. He has room to fill out physically and as he does, his already-electric stuff will only tick up. Bremner has a low maintenance, under control operation with present arm speed. He attacks hitters from a high-three quarter slot and his fastball sits in the 93-96 range and tops out at 98. It has elite riding life (averaged over 21" of IVB in '23) and is most effective when located in the top-half of the zone. Between its velocity and shape, it is a 60-grade offering. He boasts two quality secondary offerings in a mid-80s changeup and low-80s slider. Bremner’s changeup is the more polished of the two, but his sweeping slider has plus potential. In 2023, Bremner’s changeup generated an impressive 48% miss rate. He has advanced feel for the offering, and he will throw it to both left and righthanded hitters. It plays well off his mid-90s fastball and flashes big time late tumbling life and some fade to the arm side. Bremner threw his slider just 12% of the time in 2023, but it has the chance to be a true out pitch in the future. It features ample late sweeping life as well as some depth, and is a real weapon especially against righthanded hitters. It has reportedly taken a step forward this fall and could be a lethal offering in 2024. Between his plus control, low effort delivery, and the chance to have three plus or better pitches, Bremner profiles as a starter professionally. He has a chance to become a household name this spring and with two strong seasons pitching in the rotation, Bremner has 1st Round upside in 2025. (📽️: UC Santa Barbara Baseball)

🚨 xAI just dropped a massive upgrade to Grok Imagine! Now you can choose between two modes: Quality (new): Produces next-level images with jaw-dropping detail, realism, and creativity, generating four high-quality images at once instead of an infinite scroll. Speed: Delivers lightning-fast generations with consistently impressive results, just as you've experienced before. way more power. just select a mode, then type what you want to imagine. here are two prompts that you can try. prompt one: A dramatic low-angle cinematic view of a menacing knight in intricate ornate black plate armor and helmet with flowing dark cape, riding a powerful muscular black warhorse in full gallop charging directly toward the viewer across a vast field of tall green grass. The knight raises a long straight sword triumphantly high in his right hand. The horse has a wildly flowing mane and tail whipped by motion, ornate leather-and-metal barding, and tack. Foreground shows extreme radial motion blur streaks in the grass conveying tremendous speed and velocity. Background features towering jagged snow-capped rocky mountain peaks under a vibrant deep blue sky with voluminous dramatic white clouds. Epic dark fantasy atmosphere, highly detailed textures on armor and horse, cinematic high-contrast lighting, dynamic heroic composition. prompt two: A serene young woman with fair skin, shoulder-length straight dark brown hair, and a calm introspective expression gazing slightly downward stands centered in a vast barren white sand desert at night under a deep dark navy blue sky, with distant low dark rocky mountains on the horizon. She wears a long flowing translucent white hooded robe with subtle iridescent holographic shimmer and prismatic rainbow-cyan reflections across the fabric, the hood up over her head. In both hands at chest level she holds a single glowing bioluminescent blue cross, jesus in the middle is emitting intense bright cyan-blue light that illuminates her robe, hands, and face. Directly behind her head and shoulders is a massive luminous circular rainbow halo aura with concentric glowing rings transitioning from inner vibrant blue and cyan outward to turquoise, yellow, orange, and red, crowned by a brilliant white starburst light at the top center casting dramatic volumetric god rays downward. Cinematic mystical ethereal atmosphere, photorealistic yet fantastical style, sharp focus, high detail on fabric textures, rose petals, sand ripples, and light effects.

The shelter manager stopped us right before we walked into the kennel area and said quietly, “If you take the male out for a walk, don’t shut the door on the female. She’ll panic and could hurt herself trying to reach him.” We had arrived planning to adopt just one dog. Our farmhouse has a large yard, but we also have a budget to think about. Then we saw them — two massive, long-haired German Shepherds pressed tightly together in a small kennel. Their names at the shelter were Rex and Luna. A volunteer gently shared their story. They had already been returned twice, not because they were aggressive — in fact, they were incredibly gentle and affectionate. The real issue was how strongly they were attached to each other. If one of them left the room, the other would cry and panic as if something terrible had happened. The shelter was running out of space and had started discussing the possibility of separating them permanently to make adoption easier… even though everyone knew it would devastate them. I stood there watching Rex carefully place his large chin across Luna’s back. Both dogs were shaking slightly, aware that people were studying them and deciding they were simply “too much.” My husband looked at me, then back at the two nervous dogs clinging to each other. He didn’t ask about the cost. He didn’t hesitate. He just walked over to the wall and picked up two leashes. “We’re not the kind of people who split up a family,” he said. So now our house is a little more chaotic. Our vet bills doubled, our bed barely belongs to us anymore, and 140 pounds of fluffy German Shepherds somehow manage to take up every inch of space. But honestly? Bringing both of them home turned out to be the best decision we never planned to make. If you want to see what Rex and Luna look like today — safe, inseparable, and finally living the life they always deserved

From a sheer stuff standpoint, RHP Cam Leiter (FSU Baseball) has one of the loudest arsenals in this year's Draft class. Was a member of the AAC All-Freshman team selection in 2023 after posting a 4.92 ERA with 80 Ks across 56.2 IP. Leiter's first season at FSU was cut short due to injury, though he showed big time flashes in his 7 starts (35 innings). Worked a 4.63 ERA with 56 Ks to 22 BB. Leiter has a high-waisted, prototypical pitcher's frame at 6'5" and 234-pounds. Has added physicality year-over-year. Compact and explosive delivery with big time arm speed. Attacks from a three-quarter slot with a low release height. Dynamic mover, blocks well with his lead leg and really drives his back hip through. Powerful! Fastball sits in the 94-96 range, but has been up to 99. Jumps out of the hand from his ~5'10" release height and flashes riding life through the zone. Plays up—and is at its best—when located in the top-half of the zone. Also where it gets the most whiffs, and last year it generated a 30% miss rate. Improved command of the offering will make it that much more effective. 55 right now. His most used breaking ball is a high-70s-to-low-80s CB. Plenty of depth with sharp, downward teeth. Almost a true 12-to-6 shape. Will use it against both right and lefthanded hitters, and last year it held opposing hitters to a minuscule .071 average. Generated an impressive 46% miss rate, it's a 60 right now. Leiter's upper-80s-to-low-90s power SL is another effective off-speed offering. Late lateral tilt with some depth, will throw it almost exclusively to RHH. Another pitch that flashes plus, and last year it garnered a 38% miss rate. He threw it just 11% of the time in '24, but Leiter also features an upper-80s-to-low-90s CH. Ample fade to the arm side, though at times it will have more tumbling life than fade. Not to sound like a broken record, but Leiter's CH also flashes plus. 44% miss rate last season. Throws it with conviction. If you catch Leiter on the right day, you could leave the yard with a 55 and three 60s on his pitch mix. The two biggest keys for Leiter will be taking a step forward in the pitchability department—which in turn will make his arsenal that much better—and staying healthy. He certainly has first round upside this July. (🎥: FSU Baseball)

While Trump bs’s the world on his scripted fall out with Israel, the U.S. military is carrying on with its construction of a base near Gaza while Israel controls over 50% of Gaza! Check out the details: This $500 million base will house up to 10,000 terror forces they say is part of a stabilization force on 350 acres of Palestinian land. There will be 26 watch towers, multiple bunkers, an arms range and a massive warehouse with weapons all protected by barb wire! The construction is led by a U.S. general while around 200 U.S. troops are stationed in Israel as part of the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), which coordinates humanitarian and security assistance into Gaza. Meanwhile, There’s no reconstruction happening in Gaza while Palestinians live in tents and in fear of kosher terrorists. The Israeli Minister of war crimes, Israel Katz, proudly announced: We currently hold over 60% of Gaza, and all of it has been destroyed. It has been destroyed both above and below ground. This is the difference in the approach we have introduced. Kosher child killer found out! Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon, the battalion commander of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade of the Israeli occupation forces, was killed in southern Lebanon alongside three other soldiers. According to investigations into the murder of 5-year-old Hind Rajab, this is the same battalion that murdered her and six of her family members in their car on January 29th, 2024. They also murdered two Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics, Youssef Zeino and Ahmed Al Madhoun, who were killed when their ambulance was struck while attempting to rescue her.
