At a company I used to work for, the owners made all kinds of cost-cutting measures and stopped giving performance bonuses. Then we learned one bought a Ferrari and was racing it, which involved paying a team. Lots of people including me left.

I remember when their excuse for pumping out low quality videos with misleading information was "the finance side of the business is so tight we have no time for fact check and quality control". Apparently it wasn't actually very tight at all.
