Problem... if entry isn't in the list, this routine will crash when the while statement's expression tries to evaluate the ->next of a null pointer, which would be the last item in the list. This is efficient, but it's also an obscure bug waiting to happen.

that is pretty easily accounted for in code. here, since the function accepts an entry, its probably assumed to be in the list.
