That has happened with me many times, and I have learned the secret to stability is try to keep as few dependencies as possible in the rice. That's why I like quickshell, since you don't need 20 different packages, you can just build most functionalities in quickshell which use cli tools under the hood.

I don't have many setups honestly. I use quickshell rices on hyprland that people share online mostly. It's not that hard to setup if you know your way around linuz

You can install some lightweight linux distro if you want your old system to live on. Windows will eat it up.

@shikhr_ this shit is cool but thats WAY too much work. Looks like they are running a pretty standard ricer build (arch + hyprland + waybar + rofi) or similar. Its possible they are mix and matching other peoples configs but if thats custom it was probably a good deal of work. not worth

It needs hyprland, which won't easily work on mint probably. If you want to switch, arch and nixos are the best options for it.
