I’ve got some bad news- the auto excise tax increase bill that Maura Healey proposed is making its way through the legislature. This is a bill that would allow cities and towns to triple the auto excise tax. That’s right- it would be a 300% increase. You would potentially be paying 7.5% on your auto excise tax as opposed to the current rate of 2.5%. That would mean the average working family in Massachusetts would be paying thousands more in excise tax when they buy a new car. Massachusetts families are already paying too much. The last thing we need is a higher excise tax. When I’m governor, we’ll cut taxes and cut utility bills to make the state more affordable for working families. #magov #mapoli

UPDATE: Colorado taxpayers will LOSE all future tax refunds from TABOR (Taxpayer's Bill of Rights) forever if this bill passes! SB26-135 just got a Fiscal Note that shows $800 Million would be LOST in tax refunds (and that's just in the first year!) This is extremely irresponsible for politicians to push a de facto tax increase in these tough times! Please show up and speak against SB26-135, this Thursday March 12th!
