When the majority is unemployed and poor, “pooling together resources” is not a viable strategy. Besides, you can’t plan to run an economy of tens of millions of people using stokvel methodology. It sounds nice, I suppose, but we need to be serious.

It is a great pity that South Africa's contribution to GDP from manufacturing has halved during the ANC's rule. If it weren't for the automotive industry, our manufacturing capability would have been gone.

Wow this is so true actually. Spot on! I am scared for our SA because our government seems to be pushing for a hustle culture whereas the skill labour jobs have disappeared.

Our government should stop procuring goods from non producers. Shangan is a municipality owned company in china producing vehicles, why aren't we using the same model so government can procure local fleet?
