It’s much worse than that. It’s called fractional reserve banking. In Europe Banks only need to be able to pay out 1% of the money they print. US is 1.1%. You give them one dollar. They can lend out 100. it’s as crazy as it sounds!

That’s BS and not the whole story. It’s worse than that. The bank blows up the money it borrows. It prints more money than it has when it gives out credit. European banks have an even larger multiplier than US banks.

It's also wrong: banks don't need deposits to lend out
