he says so much left coded stuff but doesn't seem to grasp that the left are the ones selling public infrastructure to private investors because they use the immediate funds for gimme programs and don't give a shit what happens in ten years

You don't have to take the toll road. As many times as I have to drive through there, there are other ways, and they don't take that much longer.

lol … everything with these jerkoffs is “taxing the rich” instead of admitting their getting ripped off by the government.

Taxes on the wealthy is such a cop out. We get $4 trillion in tax revenues every year. That’s more than enough.

Public infrastructure should be “funded with taxes on the wealthy.” Fuck right off.

Notice how he slickly tried to say that we should tax the rich to pay for his gay little infrastructure projects.

He acts like there are no other options. I live in Chicagoland and there are other options of roads that you can take that don’t cost this much. Most ppl I know just avoid using the skybridge

He’s right on the point of foreign investors; Chicago doesn’t even own our street meters. Our local government has a contract with Middle Eastern investors that doesn’t end for another 30+ years. All the money he made from street meters goes directly towards them & not the city.

If everyone just took I94 instead of I90 (The Chicago Skyway) the owner of the Skyway (owned by Atlas Arteria) would lose money on its $1.8 Billion investment. It is an extra 15 minute drive.

Florida has more toll roads than any other state. And the money keeps on being collected long after those roads have been paid off. Why? So they can build more toll roads. Make it make sense. One big ripoff after another.

They said the bay bridge in California would stop tolls once it paid for itself…. Lol still paying bay bridge tolls

To be honest, the Skyway is much better since they awarded that contract, and the price for the time savings is quite fair. The roads are also maintained much better than in the eighties and early nineties.

Real Chicagoans know not to go that way 👀 or anyone who uses Google Maps and chooses the "no tolls" option.

Government doesn’t generate revenue. The only possible way the government generates any fucking expendable cash is through taxing other nations through tariffs or taxing the residence and citizens of the country.

@grok Who sold this toll road? Which political party?

Profilbild von Scott

“…by taxes on the wealthy…” yeah, so you want free shit Oh and btw pretty sure the government that sold this bridge to public investors wasn’t Republican, and I’m 1000% sure they got personal kickbacks when they did.

Every single cent in taxes is always a tax on the poor, people who aren't poor never paid a single cent in taxes, its all passed along in goods and services sold to the poor. The class of established peoples are always against competition, every regulation serves that purpose too

Yeah, Chicago did the same thing with the parking meters too, all owned by a private company.

If a public road is sold to a private company, how can public servants police said road, shouldn’t they have to hire private security with the only punishment being fines or banishment? The police can patrol my private driveway to road to enforce public laws, how can the patrol a private road?

The Skyway is awesome dude, this is exactly what privatization should look like, only the users pay. If you don’t use the Skyway, no toll, no tax, no convenience.

Yes, the skyway tollway is built so the tolls should be eliminated and become a free way today. Iowa & Wisconsin have zero tollways but they still have roads.

As a stanch Capitalist, I somewhat agree with this cuck. States should not sell their infrastructure especially to foreign investors then slap a toll (tax).
