I feel like it’s also not pointed out enough that it was a deliberate choice by the BBC to not buffer that moment out of the broadcast. Someone said “free Palestine” and the bbc cut that out but they couldn’t cut out the literal slur??

No one watching TV could really make out words of verbal tics. They just sounded like muted shouts, v unclear what was said Overnight, zoomed clips with amplified volume went viral from big USA accounts. UK woke up to huge drama. Think that explains the different reactions

I agree we need to do better for the disabled community but that includes denormalising ableist language like the d word. We have to find better language. But I agree with the rest of what they said.
