I love how my RZ1 has an “accent” button and it’s the exact same drum, just with lower volume lol

I learned that from copping Pad Thai drum kit, there’s always a kick and an accent kick, which is the same kick just shortened and maybe pitched

Can you lower the velocity for the little kick? Or should it be a different kick programmed in?

it can be done either way. All about getting the perfect velocity adjustments and nudges if using the same kick. Easy to have an accent kick when chopping up breaks. It’s already in there.💪👊🙌

Solid schooling. Good lookin out. 🏆 I only started seeing 2-part kicks when legit producers & beatmakers began dropping packs. Being a drummer and chopping breaks, it never entered my head it might not be common knowledge that there's a shorter, higher pitched initial hit.
