It could be okay if there was really playoffs from scratch and cut at 50 in st jude and cut 30 at bmw. If theres tie at cut line, they play playoffs at friday until theres 50 left and 30 left on the second. Otherwise this is nothing to with playoffs, just extra regular season.

"A couple years ago I was conditional, no starts, and it's just a bit chaotic," Atkins said. Flushing It Golf spoke with executives at LIV Golf Andalucia about their plans, and they are committed to utilising The International Series on the Asian Tour to help elevate national opens across the globe as LIV Golf 2.0 develops. In fact, several senior players even mentioned, unprompted, the importance of building it within the potential 2027 schedule. However, members on the Asian Tour admit although they are very happy with the success of the partnership so far, there were concerns when the LIV Golf backed purse increase of the Kolon Korean Open was pulled at the last minute, and they want options left open amid the uncertainty. Flushing It Golf reached out to the Asian Tour and they offered this official comment: “LIV Golf have been a terrific partner for the Asian Tour over the past five years – facilitating the creation of The International Series, which has been hugely successful. These premium events have added a new dimension to our tour, boasting world-class fields competing for elevated prizemoney at outstanding venues. In particular, the initiative has afforded us the opportunity to travel to exciting new markets in Africa, the Middle East and Europe. We look forward to seeing the remainder of The International Series events played out on the Asian Tour this season. “Our senior leadership are in constant dialogue with stakeholders and partners on how best to move forward and build on the successes over the past five years. We are very confident that solutions will be found that are in the best interests of our members and partners. They will pave the way for a strong schedule to be in place for 2027 and ensure long-term growth. “We look forward to providing updates over the next few months and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigate through to the next cycle.” The International Series are fantastic tournaments and have without question helped offer more opportunities for golf in the Asian Tour region. Several players, like Scott Vincent from Zimbabwe, have completely changed their life by qualifying for the LIV Golf League. And fans all across the globe have been able to see star players in the flesh. If LIV Golf is to succeed going forward, they desperately need authentic pathway systems to create and elevate their own stars. They simply cannot afford to buy them in anymore. The Asian Tour offers that, but LIV Golf are not the only tour interested in strengthening links with the region. In fact, Flushing It Golf understands the PGA Tour attempted to form a much closer relationship with the Asian Tour several years ago, with an offer made to create a formal partnership, but that was rejected by the board. A few years later, the Asian Tour then partnered with LIV Golf in a deal worth $300 million. It’s entirely possible though that the PGA Tour, along with the DP World Tour, will sense weakness and now look to make another approach to grow their global pathway system. This leaves the Asian Tour in a position where they have multiple options available. No matter what happens to their partnership with LIV Golf, the Asian Tour will be just fine. Keegan Bradley is currently projected 4 places outside of the FedExCup Playoffs after finishing outside of the top 50 at the Wyndham Championship. He spoke after the round: “Yeah, it was a tough year. It was a tough -- yeah, it's been a tough like year and a half. I'm looking forward to getting home and resetting and coming out next year a little fresher maybe. I got off to such a terrible start this year. Next year hopefully will be better.” Any other season, he would made the Playoffs finishing in 74th position, but now the PGA Tour is becoming more cut throat, he breaks a long run he had: “Normally I'd be going on to the Playoffs in years past right now. So, you know, yeah, it's only 70 make the Playoffs for some reason. Like I said, any other year I'd be in the first couple, so it's tough. I wish I just played a little better at the beginning of the year, we wouldn't be in this position.” Keegan’s next event will be as a vice captain at the Presidents Cup where he will be looking to finally put the Ryder Cup loss at Bethpage fully behind him. Another awesome story of the 2026 season has been Gary Woodland. After recovering from brain surgery and battling PTSD, he’s just qualified for his first Tour Championship since 2019 by finishing T4 at the BMW Championship. His press conference has it all. Emotion, celebration, and then he also had a laugh about his top off the 9th tee. Gary is playing some incredible golf and it’s so good to see him make it to East Lake. One of the things that Golf Lover UK & I discussed is the Sky Sports Golf broadcast. They bring in Butch Harmon specifically for the majors - the more I thought about it, it’s an important component that 🇺🇸 major broadcasts are lacking since Peter Kostis left. There’s so much great info in these 4 mins. The top instructors have so much knowledge of golf - and the majors are where we need that depth of knowledge. Guys like Butch, Hank Haney, Claude Harmon III, Pete Cowen, Jim McLean Golf, Dave Pelz, Chris Como, Foley, Como, Cameron McCormick & others. In order to be a good instructor, you have to be a great communicator. That’s what the major golf telecasts need more than anything. They also tend to be the most unbiased. New and/or insightful voices make those events feel bigger for sure. More of this. Getting Sky for the PGA Championship for sure!

LIV Golf’s early proposed schedule for 2027 consists of what they are calling “5 x Team Majors” and “5 x Signature Events” in correspondence with media. The players obviously got the same memo because Anthony Kim made a joke about it ahead of LIV Golf Korea. When asked about whether majors are on his radar, AK said: “Yeah, I obviously want to play in the majors. I want to play in the biggest events. That's why I'm working. But I heard LIV is adding five more majors, so there will be nine majors to go after. (Smiling.)” On the serious side though, AK is currently 5th on the season long standings and the highest placed player who is not currently exempt after Andalucia will qualify for The Open. LIV Golf’s early proposed schedule for 2027 consists of what they are calling “5 x Team Majors” and “5 x Signature Events” in correspondence with media. The players obviously got the same memo because Anthony Kim made a joke about it ahead of LIV Golf Korea. When asked about whether majors are on his radar, AK said: “Yeah, I obviously want to play in the majors. I want to play in the biggest events. That's why I'm working. But I heard LIV is adding five more majors, so there will be nine majors to go after. (Smiling.)” On the serious side though, AK is currently 5th on the season long standings and the highest placed player who is not currently exempt after Andalucia will qualify for The Open. 21 year old Jackson Koivun played a full season at college before turning pro to join the PGA Tour. He has now joined Tiger Woods as the only players to ever make it to the FedExCup playoffs in just 5 starts. After finishing T29 at the Wyndham Championship to secure his spot in Memphis, he was asked what his goals were when he turned pro: “I mean, obviously I wanted to make the Playoffs and I knew that was a farfetched goal. If I told myself back in June that I would be sitting at 70 and waiting it out in Greensboro, I think I'd be pretty happy.” He then spoke about what it’s like to be in the record books alongside Tiger Woods: “It's pretty cool. Obviously whenever you're in the record books with Tiger it's a good name to get acquainted with.” He was also asked why it was so important to make it to the Playoffs: “At the end of the day it's kind of the season-long goal, to make the Playoffs. Happy 100th birthday to Bob Toski, the 1954 PGA Tour money winner who became a Hall of Fame teaching professional! Toski, a five-time PGA Tour winner who weighed in at 118 pounds in his playing days, was nicknamed 'Mouse' by Sam Snead for his small-but-mighty ethos. The Massachusetts native left the Tour at age 30 to spend more time with his young family, and he found success as a no-nonsense golf instructor who believed strongly in the hands' role in the swing and the power of the mind. In 2013, Toski was inducted into the PGA Golf Professional Hall of Fame. "I'm not just a teacher of mechanics," Toski said. "Golf is a mind game. You become what you think you are. If you think you can win, you'll win ... I like winners." Among those winners: Ken Duke, who began working with Toski in the mid-2000s as he was struggling to compete on the Korn Ferry Tour. That decision propelled Toski to immediate success, as well as an entrenched spot in professional golf to this day. “He changed the way I swing a golf club,” Duke said. “I was born with scoliosis, so I still have a rod in my back. I told him that, and he understood why I was in an open stance and swung the golf club to the right. He wanted me to swing the golf club down the line of play. I never had any lessons, couldn’t afford it, whatever. But he just suggested that, then I won the Korn Ferry (Tour) money title that year, 2006.” Duke proceeded to win the Tour's 2013 TravelersChamp, the same event won by Toski for his first PGA Tour title in 1953. After completing this week's PURE Insurance Championship on PGA Tour Champions, Duke will fly cross-country to attend Toski's 100th birthday party on Monday night in south Florida. "You've touched so many lives in this game of golf ... I would not be here today if it wasn't for you," Duke said Friday in a message to Toski. "Thank you for all you do for golf, period."

Tyrrell Hatton is playing some awesome golf on the LIV Golf League, with a win in Nashville, but he’s currently only in 1 major for 2025. I asked whether future major access concerns him at all: “I know that the guys at LIV are trying to figure it out with the powers that be in golf. I think everyone in the golf world can agree that there’s enough fantastic players on LIV that you’d like to see them in fields at majors. Currently, obviously they go off the world ranking system. I think, from a players perspective, I hope that something can be worked out where if it goes into 2025 there’s X amount of spots that LIV receive to play in majors. Just with the quality of fields that we have, I don’t see how people could argue that those guys wouldn’t be deserving of a spot in those tournaments.” Imo, access to major championships is the number 1 issue for LIV to address. It’s helps builds important context for the league and gives career progression for the players. Hopefully something is worked out soon.
