With KIRI tools, you can use "3DGS to mesh" function to get a mesh from Gaussian splatting, and now you can convert the mesh back to Gaussian splatting. It's kind of ironic, but we just try to bring handy tools to everyone. #GaussianSplatting #Blender

More games need to take inspiration from Quake's impact effects. It's so simple, a mesh rotated to face the normal of the impacted surface. Can always add particles and all afterwards on top of it, but this way you get a sharp visual.

This left on yellow is one of the most risky maneuvers to execute and I’m so glad that the team has worked on getting this perfected. Tesla AI you guys rock!! Still little quirks to improve like moving forward more in the middle of the intersection and following through a left on yellow behind a lead car but this is really promising! Elon Musk Tezmeeinc

Another big drop from Hunyuan3D by Tencent. Hunyuan3D-Buffalo 1.0 is not just another text-to-3D model. The more interesting part is its approach to 3D understanding and editing. It can understand separate parts of a complete asset, extract them, remove or replace them with prompts, and edit only the selected region while keeping the rest of the geometry unchanged. That feels like a much more useful direction for 3D AI in general: not just generating a mesh once, but actually understanding its structure and letting you continue working with it. The model combines Qwen-VL, TRELLIS and Hunyuan3D, and was trained on an impressive dataset of 87 million 3D samples. Source:

If you use a Valve Index: The new SteamVR 2.8 Beta’s Theater Mode overlay also has a toggle to switch from VR to Passthrough while you use it But of course, you don’t get the reflection floor mapping in Passthrough. Need a depth buffer for something like that to be useful!

The upcoming Rerun 0.17 brings a huge increase in explicit control over your visualizations 🚀 In this video for example we dynamically change the visualizer that is applied on an entity from Mesh3D to Points3D and then edit the radius of the points. Because this mesh has vertex colors, the point cloud automatically becomes colored as well. All of this can be done either from UI or from code. We’ll release 0.17 next week. Stay tuned.
